Many thanks to Kelly from Life With Boys for giving me this blog award MONTHS ago. Sometimes it takes me FOREVER to get around to posting these types of things and it’s certainly not because I don’t appreciate them or want them listed on my blog. The problem up until now has been with my older blogger template where I had to do everything in HTML which involves a lot of steps and time. Now that I have the new blogger template with all its handy helps and tools available which require little or no knowledge of HTML codes, I hope to catch up on posting some of the awards and things from the last 6-8 months.
I thoroughly enjoy reading Kelly’s blog!! I’ve “known” (LOL) her for a very long time through the SHS loop. Thanks again, Kelly!
The rules say you can bestow this on 10 other blogs. I don’t know who else in the SHS blogging circle has already received this award so if I listed you below and you’ve already received it, please let me know and I’ll pass it along to someone else instead. I have quite a few blogs that I frequent. Here are ten of my favorites in no particular order:Kristine from Jewels of My Own – Kristine is HILARIOUS! I can always be sure to have a laugh or two when reading her blog. And, I’m sure she gets a LOT of laughs from the comments I leave since I can be quite gullible at times (LOL). Kristine is one of my internet friends whom I’ve had the priviledge of meeting in person. I even had lunch at her house one day back when she lived in Colorado Springs and I was there visting with a homeschool group.Debbie from Follow the Narrow Path – I LOVE Debbie’s style. She posts about every day life raising their five adopted children. I so admire all they do with their children! I love hearing the stories about her dh and all of the places he flies to with his job. The next time I head back east I definitely plan to find a way to meet her in person!Lisa from The Berry Patch – I enjoy reading all of the things that Lisa and her family do raising their children on the family homestead. She’s a fellow scrapbooker and homeschooler! YEA! I read both her blog and Debbie’s blog for quite awhile before I realized they were real life friends. Perhaps if I get a chance to meet one I’ll also get to meet the other!Dorothy from You Did What? – I LOVE Dorothy’s humor! This is another blog that I’m sure to get a chuckle out of especially since there are some vocabulary barriers (LOL). I’m sure she just shakes her head at some of my questions (LOL). Anyway. I feel a particular connection with Dorothy because she and her husband are also church musicians. Oh.. and because of them I can say I “know” someone famous since her dh was a bass player in a well known rock band years ago. However, my family keeps telling me it doesn’t really count to say I KNOW someone famous if I haven’t ever met them in person….. Oh well… I know if we ever met in person we would have a lot to talk about since we already know each other so well.Karen from Shadow’s End – I love reading blog entries from Karen whenever she has a chance to post one. I LOVE her new blog design, too. We were able to meet in person last year when her son came out here to school near us. YEA! It’s so much fun to meet fellow SHS’ers that I’ve met over the internet. I know some of my irl friends think that is a bit weird, but oh well. I’ve met some really great ladies over the years! Laura from Willis Creek Ranch & Donna from Ummmm I really enjoy reading these two blogs! It took me awhile to realize these two gals were referring to each other on their blogs. I’m a little slow to connect the dots sometimes (LOL)! It blesses me that they struck up a friendship after meeting on the SHS internet loop that my friend and I own. Knowing that friendships like this occur as a result of the years DeEtta and I have put into SHS make it all worthwhile!Linda from Meahl Memories – Linda and I have several things in common including homeschooling, scrapbooking, worship team, and long drives to church just to name a few things. Last year I enjoyed following along on their vacation and I hope to travel their same route some day! Linda, thanks for posting such great details regarding your itinerary!DeEtta from Choosing Joy – I met DeEtta here in my neck of the woods many years ago when I gave her two oldest girls piano lessons. This was before they joined the Air Force and started moving every few years. It’s been a blessing to have her traveling through life just a couple of years ahead of me! I’m glad to have her navigating the road a few years ahead of me so I can have the benefit of her “hindsight.”! Her oldest and our oldest are just a couple of years apart. And, to my new blogging friend, Melissa, from HeartsatHome Melissa is new to the blogosphere and I’d like to give the YOU MAKE MY DAY award to her because a) it’s fun to receive an award when you’re a new blogger and b) she really does make my day! I don’t usually think of myself as having much to share with anyone, but these are the kind words about me I’ve seen on her blog recently: I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to my friends Teena (whom I see face to face regularly) and to my newest blogging friends, Debbie and Cynthia, for their kinds words and advice on dealing with “letting go.” Many thanks to Cynthia for her kind words of encouragement to me in response to my recent post about my upcoming graduate! Well, like Cynthia mentioned in her post, I too should stop moping around here since I have two more children who need me! It’s nice to know that my rambling away here on the blog have been a blessing to someone!

Thank you, Cynthia, for bestowing upon me the “You Make My Day” Award. How exciting! It took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to get it posted on my blog, but I did it (YEA!!!). I’m slowly learning my way around the blogosphere! Have a great day!

Blessings,
Melissa

“Sometimes it takes me FOREVER to get around to posting these types of things and it’s certainly not because I don’t appreciate them or want them listed on my blog”

Forever is better than never; there are a few I’ve been awarded that I never did get around to posting on my blog

Cindy, you are too sweet! I’m in the same boat, it might take me a while to pass this on. 🙂

I agree, it is SUCH a blessing to know these wonderful ladies, whether it’s online or in real life.
