WHAT A SWEET TREAT! What did we do to deserve this special treatment?

The sweetest thing happened on Friday morning when I received a phone call from a church friend and fellow scrapbooker, Susan. She asked if she could bring something out to our house. Fortunately, our house was STILL clean from the previous weekend’s big cleaning spree for the girls’ overnight party. Susan brought these WONDERFUL carmel rolls out from a bakery in town. It was PERFECT timing because Josh had just asked that morning if we could go get some doughnuts, but of course we didn’t have time while trying to get all of our school work done.

She also brought another special treat in this decorated paint can which was full of candy, popcorn, and a movie. The decorated can is SO CUTE. I just HAD to show a picture of it on my blog.

Evidently, Susan’s small group from church decided to send us a THANK YOU for all of the time we spend on the worship team. She said they realize how busy we are with our business, homeschooling, little ones, etc., and they wanted to let us know they appreciate all of the time we put into worship in a month. It was SO SWEET to be thanked after a long week and a late practice the night before. So. THANKS Susan and group! We really appreciate you thinking of our family.

Hmmm beta has some bugs to work out. When I signed in it lost my comment…wonder if it will show up twice..that’s happened earlier too.

ANYWAY this was a cute idea. I wonder if she decorated the tin herself….I’m thinking of several that I should do something for in the chapel. This is clergy month and while they aren’t clergy I know if Mike were here he’d be sure they knew they were apprecitated….because they make ministry flow at the chapel…..

Thanks for sharing…I could do this for our 3 chaplains and then for the worship leaders of the three services…

DeEtta,
I think she got the idea out of a magazine. It looks like the can is covered in wallpaper perhaps. It’s something very thick anyway and not paper. The flowers are a felt like fabric. Then there are the added embellishments. It’s SO CUTE! I think it would be fun to make. I wonder where you buy unused paint cans?
Have fun making some. It would be a great project to have the kids help with.. think of all the different themed buckets you could make… a camo one for hunters, music one for musicians, etc. I’m thinking this might be a REALLY cool way to “wrap” birthday presents next year!

I just love that movie night in a can idea and the sweet rolls look yummy too. How nice that these people took the time to thank you for the time you put into the church.

I’m typically not one who listens to country music very often, but for some reason I’ve been hearing this song almost everywhere I turn this year and it reminds me so much of our dear friends and our annual (we’ve only had two so far, but who’s counting!) camping trip …

On 6-18-2010, my friend, Rhonda, and I went for our annual home decor shopping trip to one of the local stores which has a spring sale every June.  Last year when we were shopping at this store, I spotted the above vase which I knew would fit this corner perfectly!  However, I …
