VALENTINE’S DAY

Holiday

We don’t typically do a lot for Valentine’s Day, but we do have a few traditions. The kids all get Valentines from the grandparents. My mom and dad sent them each a Valentine in the *mail* which was a special treat since the kids don’t usually get anything in the mail… and the Valentine’s came with $$ which is always FUN for the kids. Tim’s mom made these YUMMY cookie flowers.

They are SO big… they last several days!

Here Tim and Emily are smelling the cookie. By the look on Tim’s face you would think the cookie didn’t smell very good, but actually it was Em’s breath that didn’t smell good and she happened to exhale a big breath right in face…. (LOL)… I am STILL laughing about that just from looking at this picture. It was QUITE funny. Tim’s reaction was only a split second and I just happened to catch it right at that second!
Nathan doing his normal “ka chow” face and sound effects from the CARS movie.

We had a really hard time thinking of something to get the kids. We got Josh a jar of dill pickles….

to go with this fun game we got him called IN A PICKLE. I’ll do a blog entry about that game later. It’s by the makers of Apples to Apples.
One of our few traditions is to have a candle light dinner. Here Josh is lighting the candles.

Tim and Nathan are watching.. it took several tries and I think they were getting tired (LOL) of waiting.

We had one of our freezer meals which was Peachy Pork Chops. YUM YUM! I’ll just apologize ahead of time that I don’t have a recipe. It’s one of the dinner prep meals that I just pulled from the freezer.
After dinner there is always a rush with the kids to see who can be the first to blow out the candles.
Thanks, again, to the meal prep place we even had a home made very berry pie! YUM. It was SO GOOD!

Most people who enter our church’s car show probably spend the day before polishing and clean up their entries.  Not us!  Nope.  We don’t have a fancy car.  In fact, our rig isn’t even entirely painted.  So, there was no need for polishing and prettying it up!  No, indeed.  Tim …

CHRISTMAS IN JANUARY

The kids were SO excited to see a package come in the mail this week from our foreign exchange student, Michaela, who lives in Germany!  She sent something for everyone and they had fun digging through the box to see what was theirs. She included a chocolate spoon for everyone …
