We visited the Toys R Us store in Times Square which has this really fun looking 60 foot Ferris Wheel ride in the middle of the store’s entrance shown above.

At the entrance of the store, we were met with this pesky giraffe who stole the kids warm, roasted nuts we’d just purchased at the street vendor outside.  Can you hear Amanda’s reaction in her facial expression?  “WHAT???”  And, below Emily’s expression tells what she is saying as well, “PLEASE.”

All was well when he returned the peanuts uneaten!

This stores has lots of fun KIDS exhibits including the lego structures below which are the twin towers and the Empire State Building.

A Jurassic Park recreation where Nathan wanted me to take his picture with the huge dinosaur.

Nathan also really liked this big truck hanging from the ceiling.

Fortunately, the experience of visiting the store was enough to satisfy everyone and we made it out with purchasing a single thing!  YEA!  I don’t really budget any $$ for buying “stuff” preferring to put $$ into experiences instead though the kids each have some Christmas money they saved for spending on this trip.

We rarely buy souvenirs on family trips… our memories are our photos. We too would prefer to put the money into seeing/doing things

THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING

What is a trip to NYC without a view from it’s tallest building?  The 102-story Empire State Building was the largest building in NYC for more than forty years until the World Trade Center’s north tower claimed that honor upon its completion in 1972.  After the towers’ destruction in 2001, the Empire State …
