SUNDAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Holiday
6

We like to stretch Christmas out for as long as we can (LOL)! A few years ago we started celebrating Christmas with Tim’s folks on the Sunday before Christmas since Christmas Eve became too hectic with both of us playing for so many services. This year I didn’t have to play, but Tim did. We still decided to keep with our recent tradition of spending Sunday afternoon with his folks.

We always have soup, pop overs, and candy/goodies. After dinner (lunch) we open packages and then play cards! Here are some pictures of the after dinner activities. The boys are full of BIG SMILES today (LOL). For the few of you who have noticed that I don’t usually catch Josh smiling, here are a few pics for you!! He really does smile. I’m just not usually quick enough to catch it!

Now. Before you go counting how many pictures I have of each of the kids let me just say right up front that I’m posting more of Josh on this day because I usually don’t have very many of him (smiling) so I’m taking this opportunity to increase his presence on the blog. I think this is one of my favorite pictures and you’ll notice that I changed his sidebar picture to this one.

Emily is REALLY excited about whatever she opened (LOL)!

Amanda got one of her favorite perfumes and this cute little elephant. Emily also got one of the elephants that Tim’s mom made and I think that’s what she was squealing about above.

Nathan was excited about EVERYTHING!!! He would have been happy with boxes, I think. Last year he was SO SICK he fell asleep right in the middle of opening a package. There wasn’t any napping this year (LOL).

We were happy that Skyler was able to join us!

Amanda had originally planned to stay a few nights at home, but she was singing for all of the services this year and it was easier for her to just go home and get ready instead of having to bring all of her stuff home “home.” It still feels funny for me to call her new home home if that make sense. When I say “home” I mean OUR HOME (LOL) not her home… well you know what I mean. I do tend to make things complicated…. so I’ll keep moving along now (LOL). Anyway. Since Skyler was able to come for the Sunday before Christmas dinner they rode out together.

After we opened packages then it was time for Nathan to play with his new games. Tim played with him for awhile and then took a quick nap. I didn’t need a nap this year since I wasn’t playing for all the services (LOL).

Here’s Tim’s dad opening his packages.

Gave me a jolt to see 25 Dec at the top! :;snort::

Way to go Josh – you’re a real blog presence.

Looks like a great celebration, Cindy.

Loved all the pictures Cindy! Also, I remember Nathan being sick last Christmas . . .he looks great this year . . .full of energy and very happy 🙂
That is neat to see Skyler coming to the Christmas celebration too. Jordan met a girl in school about 5 months ago. He just called her dad a week or so ago to ask permission for him to get to know her better. They are from Michigan so he had to do it over the phone and not in person. Her father gave him his blessing. Her name is Jessica and she is a complete doll . .. we all adore her. We were able to spend the week getting to know her in Missour I when we were there. It was the week after we left that he decided to call her dad . . .I think he wanted to see what we all thought first 🙂

Most people who enter our church’s car show probably spend the day before polishing and clean up their entries.  Not us!  Nope.  We don’t have a fancy car.  In fact, our rig isn’t even entirely painted.  So, there was no need for polishing and prettying it up!  No, indeed.  Tim …

CHRISTMAS IN JANUARY

The kids were SO excited to see a package come in the mail this week from our foreign exchange student, Michaela, who lives in Germany!  She sent something for everyone and they had fun digging through the box to see what was theirs. She included a chocolate spoon for everyone …
