Trade Books for Free - PaperBack Swap.

I’d like to share the following email which I received from PaperBackSwap this morning.  I’ve already donated some of my PBS Credits to the Story Time with Soldiers program.  Please consider doing the same!  If you don’t have any PBS credits, you can donate $$ instead!

If you’re not a PBS member, it’s a great site where you can swap the books you no longer need for ones you’d like to have.  Check it out by clicking the icon above and if you sign up, please use my email address as the referral.  If you don’t have my email address, please contact me through the comments section.

Dear Members,

We are very pleased to announce the return of our Military Donation Program, Story Time with Soldiers, where your unused book credits can make all the difference for children of those serving in the United States Armed Forces!

Many of you will remember last year’s drive. It was a huge success! We were able to send thousands of books to help unite families separated by deployment. This year we’ve again partnered with the nonprofit organization, United Through Reading. Their program helps ease the stress of separation for military families who have a parent or close relative deployed, by creating DVDs of the deployed soldiers reading children’s books aloud. The DVD is sent to the soldier’s family, along with a brand new copy of the book being read in the DVD, so that the children can follow along.

Donations of PBS Book Credits and/or PBS Money will support this effort; every Book Credit donated by a member equals a new book for a soldier to read aloud and send home to his or her child. You can go to this page to read more about this program, and to donate.

Thank you for showing your support for those protecting and serving our great country!
