STARS & MOTOR CARS PARADE – MGM

Vacations - 2007

Nathan was SO EXCITED to see Mickey Mouse in this fancy car!
Notice him shyly waving at Mickey!
I won’t take the time to name every car… but here they are….. cars for all different movies and characters. These cars are AMAZING… they are decorated so nicely and each one is SO different. Josh took most of these pictures.

Of course, Buzz Lightyear and Woody were a hit! The boys *love* TOY STORY.

We split up for this 1/2 of the day. My brother and both grandparents stayed at Epcot to see a few of the countries. Tim, the girls, and our friends all went on MGM rides which Nathan couldn’t do and Josh didn’t do. So, the boys and I wandered around and looked at a few things then decided to watch this parade. We were a little late deciding to watch it so I wasn’t sure we would find a spot on the street where Nathan would even be able to see. I also knew we only had a short amount of time to get from the parade to the restaurant where we had reservations at 3:40. We decided to go to the start of the parade and we were fortunate to find a spot right in front where we could all sit down and watch the parade.. and as soon as it was over we followed behind the last car through the winding street until we got to a place where we could cut across and get to the restaurant. We got there just in time for dinner so it worked out great. Here the boys are eagerly anticipating the start of the parade.

If you’re into cars this is the parade to see… speaking of “CARS” we were told that Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater would be in this parade, but they were not… sigh…… we did find out, however, that Lightning and Tow Mater would come out from 4:00 – 4:15 for a viewing… ugh.. that was RIGHT during the time we had reservations for dinner….. but with all the disappointment Nathan has already had I was determined to eat quickly and then RUN over to the viewing and then RUN back to the restaurant for dessert (LOL)… not exatly the leisurely dinner I had anticipated, but Nathan was quite happy.. and I’ll put info about that sighting in the next blog entry.

That was an amazing parade! Wow. You got some great pictures so you must have been fairly close. I am so tickled that you have this blog because we get to enjoy your pictures. It would be a bit of a drive for us to come by and look through your scrapbooks. 🙂

Kristine,
I LOVED that little wave too which is why I had to point it out since it might have gone unnoticed otherwise.

Kathy,
It really is a cool parade, in fact, ALL of the DW parades are AWESOME… we just have some that are preferred over others… but really they are all quite unique and all are very well done.

We were RIGHT IN FRONT… as in the front of about 6-8 rows deep behind us. We were able to sit down on the sidewalk and enjoy the parade while many behind us had to stand the entire time. We were also right at the beginning of the parade which was very cool because we could take pictures of the cars as they came out of the building without people’s heads getting in our way of the photo.

Kathy,

Regarding scrapbooking and blogging. I think I should write a blog entry about that very thing this weekend! Thanks for the idea.

LUGGAGE – DAY 62 of PROJECT 365

WHEW! This is definitely the last of our vacation pictures! The night before you arrive back in port, you leave all of your luggage out in the hallway. During the night the porters come through and deliver it *here* (LOL) and you have to dig through the piles of luggage …
