This little corner is seen when you first walk into the house from the front entryway. Before last weekend’s remodel, it looked like this:

The busyness of the faux painting has been wearing me out for a long time so I was THRILLED when Tim & Emily offered to paint it a couple of weeks ago when he had a few rainy days at home. I’m sure he would rather have been “working” but I’m so glad he offers to do these things around the house when he can’t work. Honestly, it wasn’t even my idea to dig into this project. I knew it would take some work on my part as well and I just didn’t have much time right then. But, we dug in and now it’s almost done. I just need to find a few more pieces/parts before we can finish a few things in the other part of the living room and then I’ll post pictures of the entire redo. For now, I’ll just show you this one little corner. Notice how the hutch and clock in the picture below have swapped places to their new spots in the picture above.

We were really tired of these poles that went from the top of the 1/2 wall up to the ceiling. So, the boys took them out. YEA! It really opened up the corner.

One must always wear a hard hat when working!

Here is the finished corner. I love the new wall look! Again, I’ll post more about the overall change when I have the rest of the living room finished up.

Rhonda, thanks for the desk! It works really well in this corner, don’t you think? Oh, and I finally made it over to that place you told me about. I had been meaning to go there for a year – ever since another friend, Carol, told me about it last year. Anywa. I found just the right mission style piece for the corner in the kitchen. I’m going to go pick it up on Saturday!
