SOMERSAULT

Vacations - 2009

We’ve been going to a different beach (or beaches) every day so we can see as many as possible while we’re here. One day we ended up on a really nice secluded and fairly unoccupied beach called Hanama’ulu Beach Park. Since there weren’t any people around at all other than a few in the nearby park area, the kids were able to really goof off and do things they wouldn’t be able to do if there were a lot of people around. Things such as somersaults (and beach yoga which you’ll see in another blog entry.)

Obviously, Amanda wouldn’t be so free to run up and down doing somersaults on the beach if there had been people around. It was nice to have the beach to ourselves.

It looked like Amanda was having so much fun that Em decided to join her in some somersaults!

After we had been on this beach awhile, we started to figure out why it was probably not occupied. There was the airport just over the hill on the right and the helicopters flew over the top of the beach heading to the Waimea Canyon tours. Then.. we started to see some local activity of a suspicious nature as well perhaps some homeless people heading back at the end of the afternoon. Oh well… it was a LOVELY beach and we had it all to ourselves.

BIKING THROUGH PARIS

If I don’t already sound like a broken record when I say I researched all of the xyz options for abc before we booked our trip (or chose this crockpot or picked that curriculum, etc), just stick around awhile and I’m sure you’ll eventually come to that conclusion (LOL) since …

A.M. VISIT TO EIFFEL TOWER

I’m sure everyone would have preferred to sleep in a little longer today (9/26), but again, trying to avoid jet lag I scheduled us to be up and out of the hotel by 7:00 a.m. I actually wanted to leave at 6:30 but Michaela thought that was way too early …
