SEATTLE TRIP:
In June the girls, Nathan, and I headed out to Seattle on the spur of the moment to go to the homeschool graduation of good friend of ours. A family friend of ours, Bonnie (flower bed planting Bonnie) also came with us. She went to visit her family while we went to visit our friends. We dropped her off as we headed into Seattle and picked her up as we headed out. It was sure nice to have an extra driver! We made the trip all in one day and it wasn’t too bad although everyone will say I didn’t think it was bad because I slept all the way except for just a few hours >VBG> Needless to say I didn’t drive on the way out. I had a lot of sleep to catch up on I guess.

Here is a picture of the girls down by the water followed by Nathan and I.

The girls and I had one main task to help with before the graduation party and that was to prepare the memory boards for our our two friends that were graduating. Here they are. We think they turned out pretty good! We tried to capture the personality of each one and we tried to make them look as different as possible. We even made a MOM BOARD!Our friends took us all out to the Spaghetti Factory which was DELICIOUS! I haven’t been to one of those in years and we really appreciated them taking the time to take us down there when they had so many other things on their mind. After dinner we walked along the water and here is a picture of all of us down by the water.
The girls and guys seem to have a good time together even though they had only met 2 other times a few years back. They are all GREAT KIDS! Here Lee is giving us the run down on how the party is going to go and what we all need to do! She is ONE ORGANIZED person and I thought *I* was organized (LOL).One of Amanda’s tasks was to decorate the cakes…. Lee didn’t even know that both of the girls have had 2 years of cake decorating classes (LOL)! That came in handy.Even with all the planning and work the kids still found time to relax and goof off. Nathan just fell in LOVE with the boys!Graduation Day… Nathan is watching out the window with Kevin waiting for the guests to arrive.

OUT FOR A WALK: A couple of evenings we spent walking down by the beach. Nathan really enjoyed watching the ducks and I think he was attempting to call them over to him in these pictures (LOL).

BAY-O-Lee (LOL)! Our friend’s dog is Bailey and Nathan LOVED HIM! He doesn’t call him Bailey though… it’s BAY-O-LEE and he STILL remembers that dog and talks about him to this day… several months later. Here they are out on a walk together and the next picture is of them getting ready to take a nap and Nathan is sharing his blanket with Bailey.

Here we are, Lee and I. We met on the internet through an eloop and hit it off right away. Then, we met in person when I went to a homeschool convention near Seattle one year. After that they stopped here for a day and night on their way through during vacation. Another year we met them in ID! Internet friends are great because you can email any time of the day or night (LOL)! I know some people find it odd to meet people on the internet, but I’ve made LOTS of friends via the internet and living out where we do it’s a good thing I have the internet so I can get my visiting in without having to drive anywhere.
Kathy came to meet us at one of the coffee shops and that was another highlight of my time in Seattle. I always love to meet fellow loopies -from our Support4Homeschool (SHS) loop. Here are the 3 of us at the coffee shop. GRADUATION DAY: It was SO MUCH fun for us to be part of this ceremony because a year from now we’ll be graduating our first child from our homeschool. I can’t believe our baby is almost ready to finish school. Where does time go? Here is the happy family! What fun it has been to get to know them. Now I just wish they lived CLOSER!

You have the very hotel my sister friends and I stayed in in the back ground of your pictures down by the water. LOL

Everything looks so nice. Lee (and all of you) did a great job.

LITTLE BITES OF HAPPINESS

Nathan’s friend, Noah, came over to hang out today and enjoy one last day of Christmas break before school resumes for both of them tomorrow. On the way home from picking him up at “the bridge,” I asked if the boys wanted some oatmeal for breakfast, but no. They wanted …

COON “HUNTIN”

Early this morning our dog went crazy with barking and howling.  After the sun rose, we found out what all the commotion had been about as he pointed us toward a coon he had treed during the night! Mid morning the boys decided they needed to take care of the …

EARLY MORNING VIEW

I love that the days are getting longer!   There was a beautiful view of the moon early this morning which reminded me of this song by Steven Curtis Chapman.   …”Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee…   Holy. Holy, holy…”
