SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGE 07-08 WINNERS

Last July I posted a blogosphere Scrapbook Challenge as an incentive to help *me* get motivated to do some scrapbooking. I haven’t had much time for blogging lately because life keeps me pretty busy around here and then you add in a few church and co-op activities and well it doesn’t leave much time for anything else. I decided to take some time today to work on the blog and at the top of that priority list is posting an update about
THE 07-08 SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGE.

The first (and only so far) challenge was to ORGANIZE SOMETHING. Dorothy from
YOU DID WHAT? was the first person to leave a comment stating she wanted to participate in the challenge and she was the first person to finish the challenge. I sent her the Scrapbook Challenge “winner” icon (shown above) which she posted on her blog last summer. Last week (a YEAR later – I know I’m a little slow, but hey.. at least I usually eventually get everything thing done – lol) I mailed her the prize for winning this challenge.

I originally offered 12×12 paper organizer (shown further down) as the prize to the first person who finished the challenge. However, because Dorothy lives way across the pond, I wanted to take full advantage of the flat rate international shipping rate so I sent her a different prize package. (I hope she’s not disappointed that she didn’t get the 12×12 organizer.. hm… that thought never even crossed my mind until just now and well the following package is already 1/2 way around the world by now – lol). Update: Since I typed this a few days ago, I’ve now received notice that she has already received the package! WOW. That was fast!PhotobucketI didn’t realize the picture would turn out so dark. What you can’t really see is a Creative Memories file mate organizer at the back right and a 7×7 denim Creative Memories album at the back left. I also included a little non-scrapbooking something for her kids which I didn’t put in the picture. Debbie of Following the Narrow Path and her daughter Bess of Musical Bookworm were the next two people to leave comments stating their interest in rising to the challenge. And, they both posted a comment later stating they had finished what they set out to do so I’m going to send them the 12×12 paper organizer to share and I’ll toss in a few other goodies as well since they are sharing this prize. You can both feel free to grab the above WINNER icon, if you want, and please email me your address so I can ship off your prize. You won’t have to wait a year like Dorothy did because I’m ready to send it out NOW! Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Because I don’t want to leave out the others who also posted a note in my comment section stating their participation in the challenge and their goal, I’d like to send the following people a little something as well. I’m sorry I can’t send everyone the same volume of items that I’ve sent to the above, but I’d like to at least send a little something which I hope will be an encouragement to you to keep plugging away at the rewarding-in-and-of-itself task of recording family memories! The following people can also grab the Winner icon above and if you will email me your address, I’ll send something off to you as well. If you don’t have my email address leave me a comment about how to contact you. THANKS! Jodi from Learning All The Time – and incase you’re wondering about your “Ramblin Raccoon” I hope to post some entries from him before this summer is over as well.Lisa from The Berry Patch – I’ve been watching your page count and always impressed at how many pages you log in a year! GOOD JOB!Liz from Walk Worthy – Sorry. The blog seems to be down at the moment! Liz, if you check back here grab the icon and email me your address so I can send you a prize.Robin from Life Of Rileys – Pretty soon you’ll have a new little one to make photo albums for!Melissa from Scrappin My Life’s Journey – sorry her blog is not open to the public.DeEtta from Choosing Joy – who always takes off running leaving me in the dust while I’m still at the starting block having not even decided where to start (LOL)!
Ginger from Just Horsin Around – She’s just about ready to move into her new house where she’ll have an awesome new scrapbooking studio! I can’t wait to see it.Ok everyone. This officially means the end of the 07-08 Scrapbook Challenge. Watch for soon to come details about the 08-09 Scrapbook Challenge – a new icon, some book reviews, update on my challenge from last year which was to reorganize my scrapbooking room, and more challenges!

I’m excited, Cynthia! I’m so glad you will be doing a scrapbook challenge again. I finally went to a crop last night and got some layouts done. I’ts been a good long while! Between that and your challenge, I hope to get motivated again. =)

I’m glad you’re going to do another challenge, I need to “challenge” myself more than I did over the last one! I will email you.

Forgot to say, we’ll look forward to seeing Sam the rambling raccoon again on your blog. When he’s ready to come home let me know! I think he probably is having a blast in your neck of the woods. LOL

Thanks so very much Cynthia!! I’m also very excited that you’re doing to do this again this coming year. I look forward to it and hope to be able to participate even more this go around!

Most people who enter our church’s car show probably spend the day before polishing and clean up their entries.  Not us!  Nope.  We don’t have a fancy car.  In fact, our rig isn’t even entirely painted.  So, there was no need for polishing and prettying it up!  No, indeed.  Tim …

POLISHING THE JEEP

Our church has an annual car show on Father’s Day which Tim and Josh decided to enter this year.  While most people are out polishing and cleaning their entries, Tim and the kids were out muddying up our entry! They went across the road to our hayfield where it’s still …
