I have enjoyed several Francine Rivers books over the years so when I saw The Scarlet Thread being passed around our co-op, I asked if I could borrow it as well.

I loved the historical element where Francine compared/contrasted the present day struggles of the main character, Sierra Madrid, to the challenges of her ancestor traveling the Oregon trail by covered wagon many years earlier. Following her ancestor’s example, Sierra learns to surrender and accept God’s unconditional love through many of life’s difficulties including the death of her mother and separation from her husband.

Cindy – is this a stand alone book? I read Sin Eater and loved it – didn’t she write that? I tried to find more of her books at the library but they were obviously before Christ books…so maybe I got the wrong author. LOL
