I’ve mentioned before that my dad runs the train whenever the local elevator needs to haul out a load of grain. Of course, the boys LOVE to go with him. Josh is already learning how to run the train and I madet he mistake of saying “learning”. He corrected me and said he already knows how to run the train (LOL). Here are the ginormous elevators. Some day I should post pictures from the top. What a VIEW. Tim & Josh climbed to the top one day and took some pics. I’m glad the pickup was in the foreground so you have a good idea how tall these things really are.

A few weeks ago Josh worked down there with Grandpa for several hours. He took some snacks and pop because, of course, they have a refrigerator in the engine! I say “of course” because I had no idea and Josh was surprised why I would wonder if it was ok to take ice cream (LOL)… it was near 100 that day! Anyway… they have a refrigerator in the engine. Next time they’re running the train maybe I’ll go with them for a little bit and take some pictures of whatever the boys do while inside the engine.
When they were almost done loading all of the cars, Grandpa called to say that Nathan could come. It’s easier for the boys to get into the engine when it’s closer to one of the parking areas or the highway so we have to time it just right. Grandpa called and then we left right away to take Nathan down. I couldn’t decide which of the following 3 pictures to post so I posted all of them.

I have to point out why I found it hard to chose which of these three pictures to post. Above, I love how the boys are following right in Grandpa’s steps and how it’s oldest to youngest. Below, Grandpa waited to help Nathan.
And, the following picture is my FAVORITE! Notice how Nathan’s stance is exactly like Grandpa’s. Both of their left arms are bent at the elbow the same way and their right arms are swinging the same way and at the same time! I thought that was really cute!
Whenever I drop Josh off he usually has to walk quite aways and I always worry about him getting up in the engine ok, but he assures me he knows how long it takes to load a car after the whistle blows and it won’t move again until the car is loaded. But, STILL! Moms *are* supposed to worry, right? So, fyi incase anyone else is wondering if this is “safe.” If Grandpa isn’t walking with the boys, I call to let him know we’re there and that Josh is headed to the engine and I make sure Grandpa sees him and then I wait until I see Josh wave out the window at me before I leave.
This time Grandpa walked over to the road to meet us and pickup Nathan. He’s not quite tall enough to reach the first step so Grandpa lifted him up.

When the boys go to “work” with Grandpa at the elevator, Josh runs the train and Nathan blows the whistle! Grandpa must leisurely sit back with his feet up drinking all of the Diet Coke and eating all of the fudgesickles Josh packed. (LOL).
