THE RULE OF FOUR

…and I’m not talking about the Rule of Four custom that permits four of the nine supreme court justices to grant a writ of certiorari preventing a majority of the court from controlling all the cases it agrees to hear. Nope. I’m talking about the mathematical Rule of Four….

Emily is *way* past the “rule of four” in her math so you can imagine how old this draft has been sitting in queue just waiting for me to finish the blog entry. It’s TOO funny for me to not publish even though the quote is from years ago. If I don’t record it here on the blog, it will be one of many cute sayings lost forever. So, here’s the post I started quite a long while ago.

We’re back to the proverbial grindstone around here – reading, writing, mathematics, history, science, music, sports and the list goes on and on and on and on and on……..

Emily was moaning about her math and asked me to look in the TM to see if she had gotten the answer right or not. I asked if she needed help and she said:

“No thanks mom. This one uses the rule of four and you don’t like the rule of four.
~Emily”

If you aren’t a homeschooling mom, you probably won’t understand how funny this is. Trust me. It’s HILARIOUS!

On a side note:
I noticed the other day that I’ve accumulated a multitude of blog entires in draft form. Most just need a few little things – an html code fixed here, a picture added there, a book looked up for reference, etc. – so I’m going to try to take a few minutes each day to quickly finish publishing some of those older entries such as the one above.

Um, you lost me at “four.” 😉 I’m thinking I haven’t gotten there yet with my kids or did it just go over my tired little head?

OH BROTHER!

Josh can no longer be referred to as the girls’ “little brother.”  Amanda now officially looks UP to her little brother 🙂 And, Josh is rubbing it in just a little bit (LOL).  Notice the pinched fingers!
