PARASAILING

Vacations - 2007
8

If I had one of those fancy photo editing software programs I would have edited the photo above because I think it would be cool to have the cords stand out a little more.

Nathan LOVES riding in the boat. He was excited because everyone else was excited, but that was BEFORE everyone started being hoisted up into the air. You’ll see why below.

In this picture I think even Em and Josh were having 2nd thoughts. The first group to go up in the air was really dunked in the water A LOT!

I think Em and Melissa are discussing whether or not they are really ready for their rides and convincing each other it’ll be ok.

Emily and Amanda parasailed together this time. Even though they knew what to expect it seems by the looks on their faces that it was just as much of a thrill the second time around! Here they are on the back of the boat and getting ready for the wench to start hoisting them up and out above the sea. The guys must have been giving them a bad time about something by the looks of their questioning hand gestures.

Hang on! You sit on that little strap like you would a swing… UP UP AND AWAY!
Doesn’t the water look AWESOME! We LOVE being around water. I think we live in the wrong part of the country! Not a very long water sport season where we live. Next time we go to FL we want to spend a week on the beach learning how to surf and maybe even try some spearfishing or something. But.. I’m sidetracked… back to THIS vacation (LOL). Love the water! Love the sound of the waves, the splash of the water in our faces, the smell of ocean water in the air, etc. This crew was a little wild in their dunking! A few of the duos got whipped around pretty good! Looked like a lot of fun.

Yep.. Em’s smiling. It had to be FUN! Emily said: It was fun going up high and looking around at all of the scenery…. water, houses, ships,…

After watching that I wasn’t sure Josh was actually going to carry through with going up this time. He didn’t go last time either. They told me Nathan could have even gone up with an adult, but we don’t think he would have liked it. And, besides that. We have to have SOME reason to go back again right? Afterall, we’ll have to take Nathan so he can enjoy all of the things the older kids have been able to do, right? He kept saying “I NOT LOVE THEM TO BE UP THERE.” We don’t let him say “hate” so he says “not love” instead (LOL). Josh is all strapped up and ready to go…..sort of…..

He’s with his daddy. He’ll be fine!

He’s still not too sure…. but Tim is whooping and hollering and assuring him it’s just fine! Sit back and enjoy the view I’m sure he’d be saying at about this point…. well don’t sit back TOO Far, but you know what I mean.

There’s a little smile… after the rush of the take off then it’s smooth sailing! They even dunked them… but just a little… we KNEW Josh wouldn’t want to be dunked too far so we asked them to take it easy on this duo.Whew.. he looks relieved to be safely back on the boat. He had reported that he did have fun. He was a little worried about falling in the water. I asked him why since he’s used to getting tipped off the tube when we go boating.. he mumbled something about this being the *OCEAN* and not a little lake (LOL)….. Still.. he had fun and I bet he would do it again another time. Here is our crew!

Tim – doesn’t he look handsome all tan and relaxed! Vacation looks good on him, don’t you think?

Amanda! LOVE her smile! With those nice looking teeth it seems fitting that she should work at an orthodontic office don’t you think?

Another gorgeous smile! We’re blessed to have such happy kids. They are all a JOY to be around and with.. of course, we all have our moments, but by and large we really like to get out there and have fun.
Josh… our quite and reserved one. He looks deep in thought about something, but he sure is a handsome young man… of course, a mom can *brag* occasionally, can’t she?

Nathan…. what a character! He talks non-stop… always has something adorably funny to say! He keeps us all laughing.Me… well.. you know how it is when you’re the family photographer… I guess I could have taken a self portrait snapshop, but I didn’t think of it at the time….. so imagine me with a HUGE smile on my face because I LOVE being on vacation! I didn’t parasail this time because there were just enough people as it was to ride double and I can always do it another year with Nathan when he is old enough.

Here are our friends, Mike and Melissa. It was their first time to parasail and I think they enjoyed it!

One last look at the parasail thingie…the colors were BEAUTIFUL! If you ever get to Key West and want to look up this company… it’s Key West Watersports. They were great! They also offer discounted rides first thing in the mornings. Our ship docked at 7:00 a.m. and we had our parasail scheduled for 9:00… bright and early since we wanted to have time to do this and then take a taxi over to the next key above Key West (can’t remember the name at the moment)… so getting an early morning discount worked great for us since we like to get up and get going early… evidently most people don’t (LOL).

Oh yeah!!! That’s what I’m talking about! I was just needing a Florida fix. Great pictures! I LOVE the colors-amazing. You don’t need a photo editing program. You took some wonderful ones. Way to photograph the whole thing. Awesome.

Sigh. I’m with you on enjoying being around the water.

I think vacation looks good on your whole family, not just your dh. 🙂

Kathy,
Thanks for the photo kudos! Some day I’ll have time to do photo editing… for now I’m just glad to get a few shots every now and then good enough for the photo album (LOL).

Yea.. vacation suits us well… we kind of live for vacation anymore!

We are always so busy in the summer that we really can’t get away much to do any water sports, but we do share a boat with my brother and try to take it out 1-2x each summer.

Great photos! I went parasailing with Morgan this past summer – Steve and my kiddos were shocked because I don’t do things like that. Steve and the kids were going to go jet skiing and I was going to read on the docks. Driving over, I saw someone parasailing and said, “I wanna do THAT!!!” I had a blast and would love to do it again!

Great photos! We also just love, love, love the water, especially the ocean. We have a slight advantage that we can get there in about 4 hours…but the northern Atlantic isn’t quite like FL. We loved it there and you can’t beat it as a great get away from the northern winter!

It sure looks like everyone is having a great time!

Cindy! I always love looking at all your photo’s. You are a great picture taker! The parasailing looked like so much fun!

Oh, wow, I’m impressed! I’d be way too terrified to do anything like this! We saw ONE parasailer (sp?) when we were in Seattle last summer, and I snapped several pictures, because that’s just something I don’t see very often. Come to think of it, it’d be REALLY cold to parasail in Puget Sound . . .

Good for Josh, he really pushed his comfort level on this trip!

Your photos are terrific!

LUGGAGE – DAY 62 of PROJECT 365

WHEW! This is definitely the last of our vacation pictures! The night before you arrive back in port, you leave all of your luggage out in the hallway. During the night the porters come through and deliver it *here* (LOL) and you have to dig through the piles of luggage …
