Josh’s football team had their end of season pizza party on Monday night. The kids on the team each voted for the recipients of four awards, which as we all know, are usually given based on popularity not necessarily on ability or contribution to the team effort. Knowing that Josh didn’t even know a single person on the team before joining, we didn’t expect that he would be winning any trophies.

So, he (we) was surprised and honored to receive a trophy for Outstanding Blocker from the coaches. The head coach said that he wanted to give an additional award for Outstanding Blocker because of how much he had stressed the importance of blocking all season. We’re very proud of Josh and he was very excited to get the trophy, in his shy humble way.

It was a GREAT experience for him. His coach was the best that one could ask for. He was appropriately tough with the kids during practice and highly motivating/encouraging during the games. We’re very thankful that Josh was placed on a team with such an excellent coach! And, many thanks to the coach for awarding this trophy to Josh. It will be in a prized possession on his desk for a long time to come, I’m sure.
