I love all the Jan Karon books, too. But I especially like the first few in the series while they were in Mitford. I wish there were more series like this one!
This is the 4th book in the Mitford Series. In Out to Canaan, Father Tim and his new wife, Cynthia, contemplate their future – as in what they’ll do when he retires. This is a subject he hasn’t wanted to think about in the past. As with the other books there are many different story lines all happening at the same time. One that I remember in particular, since I read this book back in November, is the mayoral election! You’ll have to read the book to find out if Mitford’s long time mayor, Esther Cunningham, remains in office or if she is beat out by someone else who seems to have come into some $$. Leave it to Father Tim to find out where the $$ is coming from….
I’ve really enjoyed this series and am looking forward to reading the next book which means I’ll then be just over 1/2 way through the series! YEA! I don’t want to start another series until I finish this one… I’m kind of strange that way.
