Nathan has been BUSY this summer. He loves playing with this little kitten that just showed up at our door one day. It’s tame. Ours are not since we have mostly barn cats.
I’ll put the photo info in italics since it doesn’t really pertain to “Nathan”, but I don’t want to repost the same pics explaining anything about them (LOL). The above photo is a little dark, but at least it’s clear. That’s quite an improvement, imo >VBG>! I don’t normally get sharp pics of busy bodies when I’m trying to do all the manual settings.

Above and below. Nathan loves to WORK! He wears his hard hat almost everywhere! These pictures were taken at the state games bicycle race which Amanda was racing in. Nathan had fun pretending that he was directing traffic.
The photo above is probably still a little dark, but I figured it might be ok since his whole face was shadowed. I can say that the other picture taken manuall the shadow was so dark you couldn’t see any of the features of his face, so I was pleased to have this pic that shows it was shadowed but not so dark you can’t see his eyes or nose. So, even though it may not be a great picture it’s STILL progress and much better than one I would have posted prior to my foray into practicing manual photography.)
Below Nathan is standing by my parents little sports car and using the blue thing to direct traffic (LOL).

The 25 mile cyclists would go around this last cone and head back to the finish line. He enjoyed waving them on around the cone and hollering GOOD JOB (LOL)!

This summer we’ve been working a little on Nathan’s bike riding skills. Unfortunately, because of my poor photography skills I didn’t get a single good picture of his first attempt…. but here’s one that is at least not blurry. I’m kind of an all or nothing type person so I haven’t touched my little point and shoot since starting to practice with the XTI. If I had taken the point and shoot outside I KNOW I would have gotten some good pics of him riding his bike since it takes great outdoor fast moving pics. If I don’t get a good one with the XTI pretty soon then I’ll be sure to find the point and shoot and take one with it before learing to ride a bike is old news. Here is Tim teaching Nathan to ride his bike.

He has taken quite a few tumbles on his scooter. He rides it quite a bit since he’s not able to ride a bike by himself yet. THIS is how all of the scooter riding pictures normally turn out.

Then. After reading a couple more books and blogs and websites something must have clicked and I ended up with at least ONE picture of him riding his scooter that isn’t blurry. (below). You can’t tell that he was riding his scooter because this is such a close up picture which is all the more reason I was surprised that it turned out since he was whizzing past me on his scooter and I was fairly close to him which usually means I don’t have time to focus. I’m sure the exposure isn’t right, but like I said.. he was coming toward me pretty fast and I barely had time to move out of the way let alone focus, get a meter reading, and snap the picture (LOL).Here he is making this vrrrrrmmmmm vrrrrrrmmmmmm sound as he whips past me on his scooter. He makes this sound almost all day long so it was fun to get a picture of his lips JUST SO!

He’s ALL BOY and doesn’t mind at all being dirty! Here is a mixture of dirt, firecracker smoke, and who knows what else all over his face (LOL).
