MUSTER STATION

Vacations - 2007

Before heading out there is a mandatory fire drill. Sure glad that cruise ship that sunk recently didn’t sink BEFORE we went on our cruise…. that would have scared the kids, for sure. Here we are all getting our life jackets on in our room. That’s where they are stored, however, they tell you if you aren’t in your room when an alarm is sounded you should NOT go to your room, instead you should proceed directly to your muster station where you’ll be issued another life jacket. I still haven’t figured out where they would keep that many extra life jackets.. I mean the potential is there for them to need say 75% or more extra since it’s reasonable to think 75% of the people might be out and about and not in their room at the time an alarm might be sounded… see I just try to analyze way too many things…. so I better just get on with the blog. Here Nathan is putting on his life jacket and he was ok with it…..until…

not now… he was still ok with the life jacket and going to the muster station… until… the alarm sounded. It was SO LOUD! He had to cover his ears and that’s when he got scared. He didn’t quite understand that there really wasn’t anything to be alarmed about and this was only a “practice.”The area was crowded with people getting to their spots and lining up by height, etc….

The other kids all remembered this drill and weren’t too worried… They just wanted to get it over with so they could get back to enjoying the ship’s activities.

So, there you have it! The muster drill.. everyone has to be accounted for and attend this drill before the ship can sail away! Now to watch us push away and then head to dinner! On our last cruise we missed the dining room dinner because we opted to watch the send off.. this time it was light enough and there was enough time to enjoy both.

LUGGAGE – DAY 62 of PROJECT 365

WHEW! This is definitely the last of our vacation pictures! The night before you arrive back in port, you leave all of your luggage out in the hallway. During the night the porters come through and deliver it *here* (LOL) and you have to dig through the piles of luggage …
