MORE FLOWERS

I know better than to go to the garden shops this time of the year. Personally, I don’t particularly enjoy gardening or working in the flower beds but I sure do LOVE the looks of them. After we did so much landscaping a few years ago, I didn’t think Tim would ever want t dig up any more ground for more flower beds. However, now with his pondless waterfall project in the works, I’ve suddenly found myself with a BUNCH more area to landscape!! So, I was able to buy a few more plants (about 3 doz to be exact). Here are a few of what I planted the other night with his help.
This is a bridal veil something or other. I LOVE the little white flowers and the best part is they require all shade. This is perfect because I have one flower bed that is all shade and it’s been hard to find some things to put in there that will have color this time of the year! I put 3 of them in the bed spread out in a triangle type fashion.

I’m sorry. I have no idea what the rest of these are, but I really liked them.

They were all put into the flower beds on the east side of the house.

The two above were put in a more sunny area and this one below was put in a shady area. Again, glad I found some nice colorful things that require shade!

Stay tuned. I’ll post more of the pictures as we get things planted.

Wow it looks beautiful. I love the looks of flowers and gardens, too. But we don't have many of them around our yard. I am very allergic to bees and the last thing I want to do is ATTRACT them to our yard. I am not as worried for myself as the kids. I know this allergy runs in our family. It is sad because I really love the look and smell of a pretty flower garden.

I am glad you posted pictures. I can enjoy your flower garden (safely). It is fabulous!! I am just imagining what it smells like. Wonderful!

I know exactly how you feel, Cynthia. I hate gardening, but I love the look of gardens! I'll add gardener to my list of people I need to employ! 🙂

Your flowers are beautiful. I don't mind the gardening so much, I just don't seem to have an eye for what looks good where. So I don't have a lot of flower beds, but would like to plant more. I'll keep watching to see what all you've planted.
Thanks for sharing,
Melissa

Oh wouldn't it be wonderful to be rich enough to be able to have a gardener. We would have simply fabulous gardens that have paths and place to sit in solitude to think and dream. It is a wonderful thought!

Whatever the purple one is, we have it too. Though, it just finished flowering.

I think the fluffy ones are called astilbes.

BALANCING ACT

I don’t think I ever mentioned that I was seeing a Physical Therapist last fall for some knee problems.  They said the knee problems could be related to having a weak ankle caused by so many bad ankle sprains.  They suggested balancing activities. Look at what a great husband I …

This summer will mark our 20th year in our home.  WOW.  I have no idea where 20 years went, but I do know the time has finally come to do something about the backside of our house.  We’ve talked about remodeling/adding onto the kitchen for YEARS, but every year anothe year comes and goes …

Making tracks toward home!  The county road from the pit and hayfield entrance to our house is still covered in mud clumps even a couple days after we were out muddying up our rig for the Father’s Day car show yesterday.
