Congratulations to Emily! That’s an award to be proud of.
MIP – DAY 143 of P365

Awhile ago I posted information regarding Emily’s volleyball team last year. We weren’t able to make it to the end-of-year awards banquet since we were in Denver (pictures from that trip to be uploaded very soon), but we found out later that Emily was voted MIP – most improved player for this year! She really did work hard!
Here are some pictures from a a club game that some girls from her team were invited to play on for one tournament after the season was over. They ended up taking 2nd place which they were THRILLED about since the team was made up of girls who hadn’t played together and they really didn’t have a chance to practice together before the tournament.
In this picture she’s hollering “SIGHT OUT” which was a common phrase. She was always one of the “vocal” ones who communicated what they were doing.
We didn’t realize that in this type of club tournament all of the girls take turns ref’ing the game… not even sure how to spell ref’ing and I’m too tired to look it up. Anyway. This was her first time to ref and she really enjoyed it!
The pictures didn’t turn out very well. I had been practicing with different settings for various light situations. Gyms are SO HARD for me to figure out with fluorescent light. Anyway. I wanted to post a picture of her reffing (that spelling doesn’t look any better – lol) since it was so cool to see the girls doing that!
