MAKING DINNER

Cindy

Last week some friends and I went to the meal planning place. I came home with 12 more meals which should get us through the rest of this busy Feb-March schedule.

Here are two moms from our homeschool coop who came. Kim (on the left) is one of the moms I’ve mentioned before who introduced me to this place and you’ve seen her on my blog before if you’ve been reading for any length of time. Laura (on the right) came for the first time.

Here I’m working on the Chicken Mozarella X2. As if going to a place like this doesn’t make fast enough work of meal prep (LOL), I like to take it a step further and make 2-3 of each dinner. That speeds up the process considerably!
Tim’s mom came for the first time. She and my mom shared 12 meals and then they split those in 1/2 since there are only two of them at home. They EACH went home with 12 dinners by doing it this way.
Jill and her mom came for the first time. Jill’s mom goes skiing with our group every week and recently (last year or two) I found out that she knows Tim’s mom from a sewing club. So, it was fun for them to both come to our meal making night.

I’m SO GLAD Kim introduced me to this place a few months ago! THANKS KIM!

I THOUGHT that was Tim’s Mom I spotted in one of the early photos and then there she and your Mom were – wow they look great.

Every time I see your photos about this it makes me want to have some friends over and have a big freezer cooking day. Maybe I will some time….

DeEtta,
I also think it would work well to have a group of ladies over to do the same thing. I’ve thought about organizing that, but honestly don’t have the time to figure out the recipes, buy the groceries, and organize it… It’s all I can do to organize us GOING to the place (LOL)! I doubt any of them would be up for chopping, cutting, and cleaning either (LOL). I must say I am a bit spoiled now that I’ve tried the dinner preparation place.. and it’s not *that* much more expensive than what I would have spent on our dinner anyway..and I certainly wouldn’t buy fresh parsley for example to sprinkle on something like they do… anyway.. I’m SO glad to have found it and I bet you’d have a great time having some friends over to do something similar.

Debbie,
If there are any in your area I would highly recommend giving it a try if you find yourself in a crunch for a season like I have had…. I took my 2nd dd the last time and she enjoyed helping, too. I bet your dd would enjoy it.

I did this and actually brought my ds, Daniel. He had fun. I enjoyed the meals but found it a little expensive to do all the time. Maybe if I could get myself organized and a freezer batch myself…

How fun!! My mom did this with a group of girlfriends. I used to organize freezer/bulk cooking with two friends. It was a LOT of work and we were ALL totally exhausted by the end of the day of cooking. I’m not sure it was worth it. Sure was nice to have all those meals in the freezer. What all did you make? You’ll have to tell us which dishes you liked.

Kathy,
One of my P365 pictures is our freezer full of meals so I’ll post it later today along with all of the things we made.

The BEST part about going to the meal prep place is that they do all of the cutting, chopping, and cleaning…all I have to do is assemble. I have 12 meals prepared in about 1.5 hours and for me that’s worth the little extra that it costs to prepare the meals there instead of at home.

Looks fun to do with friends and it makes your life easier, what not to love!

I see below that you’ve posted your menu too, am I the only SH blogger not yet managing to post a weekly menu?? The pressure, the pressure, LOL

We just got one of these about 20 minutes from my house. I haven’t tried it out yet but my friend and I have talked about it numerous times. I will have to show her your pictures and maybe that will motivate us both to try it out!

BETH’S EASY CHERRY COBBLER

In honor of my sister-in-law, today on the one month anniversary of her heavenly home-going, I’d like to post a recipe that is our family’s MOST requested dessert!  In fact, it is SO POPULAR here that both of our sons have even made it on occasion when they were hungry …

EARLY MORNING VIEW

I love that the days are getting longer!   There was a beautiful view of the moon early this morning which reminded me of this song by Steven Curtis Chapman.   …”Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee…   Holy. Holy, holy…”

TICKLER FILES

I have always used a Tickler Filing system for bill paying and other things which have dated deadlines.  I have 6 such red files which are numbered with the dates as follows:  1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-25, and 26-31.  I don’t have enough dated deadlines to warrant a file for …
