Emily and I were worried about how Nathan was going to handle us both being gone for a couple of weeks. They tried to diffuse the emotions by making funny faces all the way to the airport.

I think they were both teaching each other a few things.

However, as we came closer to the airport, Nathan had to get a few more last minute snuggles with Emily. Aren’t they SO CUTE?

We had plenty of time to spare after printing our boarding passes and before we had to go through security so we went to have a bit of breakfast at the airport.

Even though we had aleady had breakfast, Nathan insisted he was still hungry so he and Josh shared a muffin.

Here we all are passing the time.

Then it was time for the last minute pictures. We had to take this family picture with Michaela at the airport because we hadn’t all been together at one time since she had arrived.

mommy! There were a few little tears, but overall I think he did just fine. I’m not sure he really grasps that we’re going to be gone for over two weeks. This is the first time I’ve gone on a trip this long without taking all the kids and now I’m starting to have second thoughts about deciding to not bring the boys with us on this trip. I’m really thinking I’m going to wish they were coming along as well. I guess I’ll just have to plan another trip.

We’ll be back on October 10th! Josh, if you’re reading this I forgot to mark that date on the calendar so Nathan could cross off all the days as they pass. Can you do that for me and have him mark off the dates. Thanks.

Cindy, I remember when Brian and Bess left to pick up our PI children. Gabe is very used to Brian leaving, but was very emotional that Bess was leaving too. Those goodbyes can be tough, but it looks like Nathan did great.

BIKING THROUGH PARIS

If I don’t already sound like a broken record when I say I researched all of the xyz options for abc before we booked our trip (or chose this crockpot or picked that curriculum, etc), just stick around awhile and I’m sure you’ll eventually come to that conclusion (LOL) since …

A.M. VISIT TO EIFFEL TOWER

I’m sure everyone would have preferred to sleep in a little longer today (9/26), but again, trying to avoid jet lag I scheduled us to be up and out of the hotel by 7:00 a.m. I actually wanted to leave at 6:30 but Michaela thought that was way too early …
