LAST MINUTE SHOPPING – Dec 22nd

Holiday

You may have noticed from a few posts back that most of our family has been sick the last week or two. It’s not like me to stay in bed so I was up and about, but I sure didn’t accomplish as much as I would have in normal health and energy. Tim couldn’t take any days off from work so he also didn’t get any chance to rest and recuperate. Fortunately, I had finished most of the shopping early – as in BEFORE Thanksgiving. If not, we would have been in a world of hurt trying to finish it and recuperate from this cold at the same time. I put off the shopping as long as possible and finally on the 22nd realized there were NO MORE opportunities to go shopping except today. We only had one child left to shop for as well as a few stocking stuffers. I was WAY too exhausted to try to drive all around town so Amanda took me shopping. You can see she’s not thrilled that the weather is changing…. At least the weather made it look a little more like Christmas. It was raining when we left home and had started to snow by the time we got to town.

I can sleep through anything. We had at least a 30 minute wait getting off the interestate and to the shopping areas since there is a lot of road construction… so that plus our travel time to town gave me a very good nap! We met up with my mom and Emily went with her for a few hours.

Poor Em didn’t feel very well either, but after being cooped up in the house for the past few days she decided to tag along. She stayed in the car most of the time since we were primarily shopping for her.
We finished all of the shopping. Amanda stayed in town to go out for a fancy holiday dinner with her friends. I managed to drive home and go right to bed. Amanda unloaded the car and wrapped everything the next day.

STUCK

I won’t mention any names here, but someone got his pickup stuck in a snow drift out in the south hills behind our house while pulling the snowmobiles On a trailer to where they were going to unload them to ride for a few hours!! Say that again???  You “need” …

DINNER

This is a fairly typical dinner for me.  A serving of meat which in this case was grilled hamburger.  Sometimes a slice of cheese, but not always.  At least two veggies and sometimes three!  No ketchup.  No bun.  No yummy homemade hamburger relish.  Just a little bit of spicy mustard …
