A,B,C,D BOOK

Homeschool Co-op
4

A is for Apple, B is for Butterfly,

C is for Crocodile, D is for Duck
Our SAGE co-op (more on that in another post coming later… I know I haven’t mentioned it on the blog yet and I will get to that someday!) preschool is doing a different letter of the alphabet each week. So far they have covered A, B, and C.

A – Apple
The teachers brought apple snacks for the kids to eat. They used the ends of carrots to stamp apple shapes into the outline of their letter “A”.

They read this book which has very cute illustrations that look like quilts with stitching.
B – Butterflies & Bubbles

The teachers used the church’s bubble machine to make ALL kinds of bubbles for the kids to play with! Nathan and his friends LOVED trying to catch them. All of the kids had a great time. Here Nathan is playing with some of the other kids in his preschool class and below he is trying to catch and smash bubbles.

The kids made little butterflies with tissue paper put between laminating paper.
This time their “B” letter was made out of bubble wrap!
They may have read a butterfly book, but I’m not sure which one it was. We have this one though.

C – Crocodile

I helped the kids during their craft time today. It’s more of a craft project for the “moms” (LOL) since the little 3 and 4 yo’s can’t really do much of it on their own. They do find other ways to have fun with the craft project though. Nathan made binoculars out of his crocodile bodies!

Nathan is showing Josh the crocodile that he made in Preschool and the caterpillar drawing that he colored.
A week later he is STILL playing with this crocodile and now it is chasing the duck from the D for Duck day (LOL)!
D – DUCK

They hade these REALLY cute ducks out of paper plates and feathers today. Nathan is concentrating very hard on his duck.

This book is too long to be read at co-op since the kids’ attention spans are pretty short, but we are reading this book to Nathan this week.

LITTLE BITES OF HAPPINESS

Nathan’s friend, Noah, came over to hang out today and enjoy one last day of Christmas break before school resumes for both of them tomorrow. On the way home from picking him up at “the bridge,” I asked if the boys wanted some oatmeal for breakfast, but no. They wanted …

COON “HUNTIN”

Early this morning our dog went crazy with barking and howling.  After the sun rose, we found out what all the commotion had been about as he pointed us toward a coon he had treed during the night! Mid morning the boys decided they needed to take care of the …

DUCK PREP

I’m not sure what’s going on with these duck feathers on my dining room table, but the placemat has been moved over to make room for them! And the Egg Nog has been pushed aside to make room for marinating the duck meat!!    I’m not much for animals, dead …
