So, we didn’t have a stewardess like the one in the YouTube video I posted. It was actually a rather uneventful flight.
I slept all the way from home to Minneapolis where we found some lunch after our arrival and then made our way to the gate for our international flight. We were hoping everything would be running on time since we only have an hour layover in Amsterdam.
Even though the flight was 8.5 hours long, it seemed to pass rather quickly. Of course, I slept (LOL). The others passed their time reading, watching movies, listening to their iPods, etc.

On this flight we were served a nice chicken and rice dinner complete with rolls and dessert. After dinner most everyone settled in for a night’s sleep or a movie. Some time during the night, Emily woke me up to show me the stars because I missed seeing them on our flight to Hawaii earlier this year.
It’s amazing to see the stars from way above the clouds. While we were looking out the window we saw a shooting star with was AWESOME!
An hour and a half or so before we were to land in the Netherlands the stewardesses started making the rounds in the airplane serving coffee, tea, or juice and some egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches as well as some fruit which was nice because we knew we wouldn’t have time to find anything in the airport in Amsterdam with such a short connection time.

Emily was SO glad to be on the ground again! I don’t know if you remember reading about the lady who died on a flight when the airplane hit some turbuleance while she was in the bathroom causing her to fly up and hit her head which led to her death. Well. Suffice it to say that made some a bit leery of using the bathroom in flight.
Amanda had a welcome to the Netherlands message on her cell phone when she arrived. It’s going to be very handy having a phone with international capability since there will be several times during this trip when we probably won’t have WiFi access.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable and pleasant flight all things considered.
