THE GRADUATE – DAY 131 of P365

Amanda walking in to Pomp & Circumstance at the graduation ceremony! I can’t even begin to describe the range of emotions and thoughts that raced through my mind during this ceremony. Thoughts ranging from thinking it just can’t be possible that 18 years have come and gone, but realizing they have and here we are. Our baby is GRADUATING! She’s a delightful young Godly woman and WE ARE BLESSED that God chose her to be in our family! Children are certainly a blessing from the Lord and we’re thankful for every minute we get to spend with our children.
Awhile ago I posted a blog entry showing pictures of Amanda from birth to graduation. You can click HERE if you want to see that blog entry again or if you missed it the first time around.
I used to nod my head in agreement when “older” moms would tell me how fast time goes. It sure didn’t seem like time was moving very quickly when it felt like all I did was change diapers, wash a zillion loads of clothes, and make home made baby food. Now, I’m one of those “older” moms who has stepped into a new phase – that of having your oldest graduate – who wants to warn those with little ones that time indeed moves fast and one day you’ll look back and wonder where time went. For those who need permission to leave the dishes undone and snuggle on the couch with your little one and a good book – you have my permission! Do it while they still want to sit on the couch and snuggle!
I’m SO thankful that I’ve been able to stay home with the kids all these years and I’m even more thankful for the freedom to school our children at home. Yes, it was a lot of hard work but looking back I can’t imagine it any other way!
Amanda, we’re so proud of you! We’re thankful for the Lord’s leading in your life and we pray that you’ll continue to seek after Him all the days of your life.
