PhotobucketLast year I tried to post participate fairly regularly in the Garden Blogger’s Bloom day when on the 15th of every month you would post a picture of what was blooming in your garden. I didn’t take time to participate much this year because it seemed like my posts were a broken record of the year before (LOL) with everything blooming at the same time and all the pictures looking like the previous years’ pictures since we didn’t do anything “new” in our gardens last year.

I DO have something to post this year, however, because as I walked around the yard I noticed that these little Johnny Jump Ups or Violas were STILL blooming and it’s the middle of November. I was so surprised to see them still poking through the fallen leaves because we’ve had many nights below freezing and a snow storm that left snow on the ground for a week!

These plants are particularly meaningful to me because they were given to me by my grandma who is 95 years old this year.

Making tracks toward home!  The county road from the pit and hayfield entrance to our house is still covered in mud clumps even a couple days after we were out muddying up our rig for the Father’s Day car show yesterday.
