FRONT DOOR

Last week we had a professional window cleaner come to wash all of the windows in our home. He did the inside, outside, screens, storms, etc. EVERYTHING in 1/2 the amount of time it would have taken me *IF* I would have even taken the time to do them. *NOT* I usually keep up the library, bathroom, and kitchen windows and sometimes the front window in the living room. But, I simply don’t have time to keep up every window in the house. There are some windows that have probably not been cleaned on all sides for 10 years. Maybe not. I may have cleaned them when we painted the house a few years ago. The windows upstairs are SO HIGH that it takes a really tall ladder (or loader – lol) to clean them and I’m not particularly fond of heights. All of that is my explanation (justification) for hiring this job out (LOL). It was SO WORTH the $$. I have noticed that we now like to open the windows and let in some fresh air where previously I didn’t like to open some of the windows because it just reminded me that I needed to wash them. Now they are all sparkling clean! When my mom drove up to see how the window man was doing she said “your house looks like it’s smiling.” I think it is!

Here is the front sidewalk leading up to our house. Grandma Bonnie has been here helping me for over 2 weeks now and the front yard finally looks nice enough to take a picture. She has completely cleaned out all of the flower beds, fertilized everything, pruned everything, added more bark, spraying round up on all of the weeds outside of the yard, dug up the grass from the driveway and sidewalk cracks, etc. The list goes on.
I’ve been looking FOREVER for something to hang on our front door. I wanted something rustic, but not too heavy or hard to clean, etc. Notice the sign on the door?

Emily found this at a fabric store and it’s PERFECT. It’s exactly what we didn’t know we were looking for (LOL). The verse is a great fit for the front door, I think. And, the old fashioned iron looking door knocking thing is telling of what you’ll find inside our house – old antique stuff.

Emily, thanks for being on the look out for something for the door!

Cynthia, your house is lovely! I’d love to hire out my windows being cleaned, and I don’t even need a ladder since our windows open in for cleaning!

I love the picture/sign for the front door! It so fits your house.

Wow, Cynthia, everything looks great. I love the new hanging for the door. It’s just perfect!

I keep waiting for my children to misbehave a little more so I can set them to weed my rose garden. Sigh. Last time one of the boys got into trouble Tim grabbed him and set him to work cleaning the garage.

I guess there’s always tomorrow. 🙂

I love the door decoration!!! It’s very inviting! Also, that is so neat that all your windows are now clean and sparkly. I think I might consider having someone clean our too!

Cindy, I’ve never seen the whole front of your house before! The windows sure do look great, I liked how your mom said the house was “smiling”! DARLING door decoration too!

SILVERWARE

This year I’m participating in the Declutter 365 project.  They started in the kitchen and since my kitchen is fairly new, I don’t have a whole lot of actual “decluttering” to do, but I do have a few organizational things I haven’t gotten to so I’m working on those for …
