FRIENDS – DAY 101 of PROJECT 365

Friends

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketI have the BEST friends in the world! And, here’s a picture of some of them! Let me tell you why they are so special.

A week ago this past Monday we had auditions for the MCT play that our kids perform in twice a year (and I am the pianist). I was wondering how in the world I was going to get everything done that week PLUS practice for MCT. We really needed to get our dd’s graduation invitations out in the mail. But, before we could mail them we had to fold them, stamp the envelopes, cut and corner round the photos, etc.

One of my friends, Joan – the other mom on the co-op Admin team with me, told me the weekend before the Monday auditions that I should bring everything on Monday and she would round up some of my friends to help! The above is a picture of them helping me get everything done! It took them just over an hour to get everything done and ready to mail. It would have taken dd and I an entire day to do all of that work by ourselves!

I’m not sure how many of my real life friends read my blog, but if you’re reading it I just have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! You’ll never know how much your help meant to me. Some of you are not shown in this photo, but you know I’m thanking YOU as well.

Dorothy,
Aren’t they! I’m not one to ask for help so it didn’t really cross my mind that I should ask. I shared how far behind and overwhelmed I was with Joan, she spread the word, and the next thing I knew I had help! It was a very touching moment for me to realize that *I* didn’t always have to be the one organizing and helping people. It was ok to need help myself.

DeEtta,
Yes. That is how we got it all done. On top of playing for MCT last week everything else snowballed and would have made for an overwhelming week… having them all help on Monday meant I could concentrate on the music on Tuesday without worrying about dd’s invitations not getting out in the mail.

Cindy . . .that’s what friends are for . . to be there in time of need for each other. Totally cool that they rallyed together to help you! Love it!

DOUBLE OVEN

Cleaning the oven doors has been on my to-do list for quite some time!  Over the weekend, I searched Pinterest and other kitchen cleaning sites to try to find the best way to clean the film off from the inside of the glass. Ordinarily, this film would probably disappear during …

INDOOR BASKETBALL

These boys love to play basketball.  For quite some time, they’ve been talking about how they need another hoop so they can have a full court!  The one you can’t see is mounted above the entryway into this room directly opposite this standing hoop.   They talked about putting up …

PONTOON

I’m typically not one who listens to country music very often, but for some reason I’ve been hearing this song almost everywhere I turn this year and it reminds me so much of our dear friends and our annual (we’ve only had two so far, but who’s counting!) camping trip …
