Looks like you all had SO much fun. Very special for your dd to have her 14th birthday onboard. Josh is certainly getting to be a fine young man as you mentioned. They all look so grown up in their dinner clothes!
FORMAL DINNER

Our ship was only in Key West for part of the day. We had to be back on board by 1:30 which gave us plenty of time to rest and relax before getting dressing for the formal dinner that night.

Grandpa and the girls! Everyone is all dressed up and ready for dinner. Part of the fun of going on a cruise is the shopping. The girls had a LOT of fun shopping for their formal dresses. We even found a cute tux for Nathan during the After-Christmas sales.
It looks like Amanda got a little TOO much sun today!

Em’s birthday just happened to be on the formal dinner night. WOW did she get special treatment…it’s not everyday you can have lobster on your 14th birthday… AND my mom was able to find and bring aboard (with special permission) a KEY LIME pie from Key West. So, after our meal and after our dessert the Head Waiter brought out the SPECIAL dessert for Em’s birthday. A bunch of the crew came over to sing Happy Birthday to her.
Whenever I look at one of these pictures of me I still find it hard to believe my hair is SO SHORT (LOL)! It was certainly easy to take care of. I think I may have to go in for a touchup… it’s gotten considerably longer since this photo.

Last time we were on a cruise, Josh and Nathan were both ordering mac and cheese. Not this time (LOL)! This time Josh has a Caesar Salad *every* night… even if it wasn’t on the menu (LOL). And, he was ordering the Prime Rib and whatever else the fancy entree was for the evening…. plus seafood appetizers and two desserts! There are many nice things about cruising, but I think the food rates right up at the top of Josh’s favorite list!

Nathan was happy to have Mac and Cheese or Chicken Fingers. He was SO GOOD to sit for 1 1/2 to 2 hours for each of our dinners. A couple of nights he fell asleep WHILE eating. I posted a you tube of him falling asleep while eating in the next entry below. It’s hilarious!

After dinner, we went to find a spot to have a formal picture taken. I haven’t yet seen the pictures that our friend took of our entire family, but here is a picture of the boys trying to figure out where to stand.
After dinner, some people in our group went to the night shows, some of us went up on deck to swim or sit in the hot tub, and some of us went to bed! The girls were old enough to go and do what they wanted this time so they didn’t have to be stuck doing whatever the oldest and youngest were doing (LOL).
Here’s one of the little towel animals the cabin attendants would leave for us each night. They also turned down our blankets and left chocolates on our pillows!
And.. so ended our first FULL day of cruising!
