FLYING FILAMENTS – DAY 154 of P365

The airborne cottony masses are filaments to carry the seeds on the wind. Can you tell we studied Botany this year? It looks like it’s SNOWING when the cotton is flying.
The seeds finally come down for a landing and many of them will take root. We’ve had to pull many Cottonwood seedlings from our yard and flowerbeds over the years.
Ok. That’s the end of my Cottonwood Tree lesson (LOL). I must leave you with this bit of information. These trees make a TERRIBLE mess of your yard, they are a nightmare for allergy sufferers, and you certainly don’t want to park your cars under them when the sticky stuff is oozing from them. If you’re EVER planning on planting some Cottonwood Trees, be SURE they are SEEDLESS!
