Aweek ago Monday, Nathan came home sick… coughing, runny nose, watering/matted eyes, fever/chills, etc. We were hoping the rest of us wouldn’t catch it, but we did. Everyone has their own preferred medication… so our counter looks like the local pharmacy right now. I’m the only one who doesn’t take anything but Vit C! I’m hoping that Tim and I will be feeling better by Thursday night’s Christmas eve practice. Being back to normal by Christmas would be GREAT! So far Amanda is the only one to escape this episode. We are rarely sick so this will probably be it for this season. My aunt, who is coming from Germany on the 26th, thinks we are always sick when she’s here. I emailed her to say we’re getting our sickness over with before she comes this time! Nice of us to plan it that way, huh?

I can barely get my kids to take anything for their colds. They can’t stand most of the medicine. In a freakish twist, they don’t mind adult Nyquil at night–that horrid green menthol-y stuff that makes me gag. They call it “licorice-y” and will take it. BLECH!!!! I only gag it down because it knocks me out!

My kids like to take things… I guess they think it makes them feel better or something???? I don’t like to take anything… can’t stand the taste of any of that stuff and would almost rather suffer the effects of the cold…than take a nasty tasting medicine.

I did finally take something last night though and slept all night for the first time in almost a week.

DINNER

This is a fairly typical dinner for me.  A serving of meat which in this case was grilled hamburger.  Sometimes a slice of cheese, but not always.  At least two veggies and sometimes three!  No ketchup.  No bun.  No yummy homemade hamburger relish.  Just a little bit of spicy mustard …
