FAMILY NIGHT:
I’m guessing most families don’t pick a week night to have their “family night” activities. We do. Our “family night” this year is going to have to be Tuesday night because it’s the only night that we are all able to commit to being home. We are all home on Monday nights, too, but 3/4 of us are TOO TIRED to do much of anything after a full day in town at co-op. I’ll leave that info for another another post. And, WOW, how time flies. Tomorros is Tues again already and here I haven’t even posted pictures or anything from our LAST week’s family night. I thought I was doing so good at keeping up this blog! Maybe I take too many pictures (LOL)! I did lose my camera for 3 days this week, but I just got it back tonight and now I have a bunch of pictures from co-op that I will work on uploading tomorrow.
Here are pictures from last Tuesday night’s “family night.” First, we started out early in the afternoon making home made pizza thanks to a recipe from a friend of ours. Here is a picture of our pan pizza and the pan that was rescued from the rescue mission box just in time! This one was Hawaiian. I think I’ll get more creative as time goes on and try the BBQ hawaiian that I’ve tasted at one of our favorite gourmet pizza restaurants in town.

The evening started out with Amanda playing the guitar and Tim reading the newspaper.

Nathan and I were resting.

Emily was playing with the cars and houses that the kids like to set up in the library. They build entire towns complete with tape all over the floor marking their roads. The houses are from my collection of Christmas villages that Herberger’s used to sell every year. I haven’t seen them for quite awhile though. We have DOZENS of them and the kids really enjoy playing with them all year round.

Josh was playing on the computer.

Then Amanda asked Tim to get his bass out and played along with Amanda for awhile.

Nathan woke up and decided to join them.

If you look closely at the picture above you’ll see all of the markings on the bookcase. These are the kids height recordings. In the next picture you’ll see that Em is quite excited to have moved to the TOP of the height list!

You might remember from my previous post that Amanda is taking lots of music lessons this year. Here Tim is teaching her a few more things on the bass and a little ways down you’ll see him rolling his eyes at how quickly she catches on!
