Spectacular flag, Nathan!
Glad to see you back, bloggy friend:)
Nathan made this AWESOME flag at co-op yesterday as part of our history hands-on time. The number “6” stands for the six people in our family with a star to represent each one. According to Nathan, Tim and I are the two yellow ones. Amanda is next with a green star followed by Emily with a pink star. Josh is symbolized by the purple star and Nathan ends the line as the blue star. GOOD JOB, Nathan! We will have to find a prominent place to display our family’s new flag!
The above project was just one of several stations which our Elementary TOG team setup for the Kindergarten, Lower Grammar, and Upper Grammar classes. Our history topics last week (from TOG Year 3, Unit 1, Week 6 for those who care) were the USS Constitution, the War of 1812, Dolly Madision and the American flag as well as learning the story behind The Star Spangled Banner. The Dialectic and Rhetoric kids had as one of their stations a guest speaker from the American Legion who spoke on proper flag etiquette, history, etc. plus some geography work, and more!
