I love the above picture! Nathan is on the left holding tightly to Josh’s hand! Josh is taking care to make sure that Nathan holds tightly to his hand. I LOVE that Josh is taking responsibility to help watch after Nathan. Nathan had such a good time getting to do some of the things that his big brother was doing.
Below. We met Zach and his mom, Angi at the fair. The big boys took turns going on some big kid rides and then going to do a few rides with Nathan. Here the big boys are going on the hang glider which is a ride I wouldn’t normally think Josh would like. He likes to stay closer to the gruond!

They are pretty high up there! Josh even has his hands out – not holding on to the handle bar.

He enjoyed the ride the first time, but couldn’t be convinced to go on it again later in the night.

Then.. they took a few rides on “Nathan sized” ones. They were both so patient to spend a little time with Nathan! Thanks, boys, for doing a few things with the little guy.!

Another “Tater” ride.. Notice the phoney smiles on the big boys’ faces, but Nathan’s smile is PURE HAPPINESS! He’s SO THRILLED to be riding on the rides this year. These rides were obviously not “thrillers” for the big boys.

So.. Nathan had to go on a good # of rides all by his lonesome! Poor thing! He didn’t mind riding the train over and over and over. He did that a number of times while the big boys went down the big slide which Nathan didn’t like.

Here someone is helping Nathan through the moving circle thing at the Fun House.

The weather was GORGEOUS! There was an beautiful sunset which Angi pointed out to me.. I might have missed this shot if she hadn’t said something!
Thanks, Zach and Angi for a FUN TIME at the fair even though this post is months late (LOL)! Oh…. and did ya’ll know that gyros are made from lamb? I had no idea, but Angi kindly pointed that out to me and then I couldn’t finish my dinner (LOL)! It tasted good until she told me what she thought they were made of. Oh.. so then I had to go and ask what it was really made out of, but that’ll remain my secret (LOL)! Angi will have to go ask for herself next year!

You might wonder where the pictures of the girls are….. both of the girls went to the fair separately with their own friends. Our outings are getting smaller and smaller…More and more I find myself going places with just the boys and I’m not sure I like that too much. Although, with just a 10 yo and a 4 yo perhaps I look younger than when I’m with a 14 and 18 yo? Ok.. IRL friends DON’T answer that unless you do think I look younger (LOL)!

Do you not like Lamb, Cynthia? If gyros are what we call donner kebabs (an upright, rotating blob of meat-like stuff), I would give them a miss anyway. It’s all the scraps of lamb not used for ‘real meat’. You really don’t want to know.{g}

Your little lad looked delighted to be going on that ride with the big boys!

Great pictures! Looks like everyone had a fun time. I’m a bit sad about the “outings growing smaller” comment. I can so see how that happens. Sniff, sniff.

Wonderful fair photos. I find the same thing with shrinking outings….I’m not thrilled but it’s life right now. LOL

I’m sure you look younger with just the little ones. LOL

Those are great photos!

I know what you mean about looking younger with just younger kids. Occasionally now I’ll end up taking just my younger two to the lake while the big kids stay home with DH. Then the younger Moms with little ones start chatting with me when normally I would be one of the older group. LOL It’s strange and funny. Actually Tristan looks much younger than he is and when I took him for swim lessons and my other kids played on a different part of the beach people would ask if he was my first and if he were starting school in the fall. It was cute but strange.

OTOH I don’t like going out to fun places without the whole gang AT ALL. When Trevor, 13, didn’t want to go to a theme park with us this summer and stayed with friends instead, the whole day felt just plain wrong! It was our first time to go out as a family without our whole family.

GETTING READY

It’s been a good many years since I’ve had a “helper” while I’m getting ready in the morning, or in this case the afternoon as you can see from the sun shining in above Charlie’s head from this window which faces the west! Charlie had so much fun playing with …

STUCK

I won’t mention any names here, but someone got his pickup stuck in a snow drift out in the south hills behind our house while pulling the snowmobiles On a trailer to where they were going to unload them to ride for a few hours!! Say that again???  You “need” …

DINNER

This is a fairly typical dinner for me.  A serving of meat which in this case was grilled hamburger.  Sometimes a slice of cheese, but not always.  At least two veggies and sometimes three!  No ketchup.  No bun.  No yummy homemade hamburger relish.  Just a little bit of spicy mustard …
