Hey, thanks for the photos that show the new road in perspective to your home. I was wondering about that the other day…I like to PICTURE things. LOL
EARTHMOVERS

Before anyone asks, I’ll just say right up front that we have VERY STRICT rules about Nathan being around the equipment. He stays on the grass in our yard or on the sidewalk by our house. He doesn’t go anywhere near the equipment unless the guys know he’s coming out and are expecting him. In this picture, I had walked out with him and asked him to stand by the blade for a picture while we waited for Grandpa to come get him so he could ride in the dump truck.
Below you can see him safely inside the dump truck. Again, strict rules which he knows to follow. Walk far enough in front that you can see the eyes of whoever is driving and know they see you. Never walk behind anything, etc. And, I always make sure the guys know he’s coming out or I walk out with him.
At the back of the property where I was standing to take the above picture, they dug a BIG LONG HOLE to get some more gravel for the pad. I didn’t realize they had such a big hole out there or I would have gone out to take a picture before they started filling it in. Before they started filling it back in with dirt, it was taller than this scraper.
This is a scaper that my dad has had since he first started the business a long time ago… 30 years or more? Not sure how many. I’ll have to ask him. Tim’s using it to scrape up some dirt which he’ll dump in the hole.
Below he’s headed back down into the long narrow hole to dump the load of dirt.
Then, Josh comes along with the dozer to push it around and smooth it out before Tim comes with the next load.
Back when I was a young kid we had an old dozer without a cab. Josh has it EASY running this nice dozer with a cab and heater!
The other thing he has to do is go along the edge of the hole to push dirt in from along the edge.
