DIAPER DISCUSSION

Kids - Amanda

We’ve been having this ongoing discussion with Nathan about not wearing diapers. For the most part he is potty trained except for wearing a diaper at night. However, he has decided that he doesn’t want to do “all” of his business (LOL) in the toilet. We’ve bribed, we’ve punished, we’ve reasoned, etc. We really don’t know what else to do.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to convince him that he should go “#2” in the toilet and NOT in the diaper, please let me know. He’s “trained” in that he will go get a diaper and put it on for that, but he won’t go in the toilet. I’m glad he doesn’t have accidents, but now I’m a bit tired of needing to have diapers. We tried hiding the diapers and he just wouldn’t GO then I was worried that would cause more serious issues (LOL)! So.. enough of a subject I wouldn’t normally even blog about. But, hey… we need suggestions!

Amanda has really spent a lot of time trying to work with him as well.. but none of us are getting very far on this issue.

He is 3 1/2. Like I said… he’s “trained” but he has it in his head when he has to go #2 that being “trained” means he goes to put on a diaper. We’ve sat for an hour or longer and he just won’t go in the toilet… he will only go in the diaper…

we’ve tried all sorts of behavior modification tools… punishment, reward incentives, etc…. nothing has worked so far.

Maybe I should ask for prayer about this on the loop! I’d really like him to be “fully” potty trained before our next vacation in 2 months.

When Tara finally got potty trained (I think it is much harder with older ones in the house and all of their activities)we could only do it because we were stuck in the house for a week and couldn’t leave because we had 5 feet of snow outside. Not recommending that method. We just put her in underwear and set the timer to make her go on the potty every hour or so.

LITTLE BITES OF HAPPINESS

Nathan’s friend, Noah, came over to hang out today and enjoy one last day of Christmas break before school resumes for both of them tomorrow. On the way home from picking him up at “the bridge,” I asked if the boys wanted some oatmeal for breakfast, but no. They wanted …

COON “HUNTIN”

Early this morning our dog went crazy with barking and howling.  After the sun rose, we found out what all the commotion had been about as he pointed us toward a coon he had treed during the night! Mid morning the boys decided they needed to take care of the …

DUCK PREP

I’m not sure what’s going on with these duck feathers on my dining room table, but the placemat has been moved over to make room for them! And the Egg Nog has been pushed aside to make room for marinating the duck meat!!    I’m not much for animals, dead …
