CHRISTMAS EVE

CHRISTMAS EVE day began bright and early as you saw by my previous post with the sunrise picture. I finished last minute things that needed to be done for tonight, tidied up my part of the office, etc. I also had a nap before we left for church! All of that and a nap all before we left the house before noon (LOL). We had three church services at 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00. We were home by 7:00 and our annual tradition of gourmet pizza from a local pizza place was almost ready thanks to the girls coming home early and preparing everything. We waited and watched for Santa.
Here is Santa (Grandpa Jim). You can see the specific Santa pictures in the slideshow post below.

Grandma took the girls shopping before Christmas. They enjoyed their time shopping with grandma and picking out exactly what they wanted! Here is Amanda showing off her new shoes and explaining to Tim why they are so “cool.”

Emily really wanted a new picture frame and here it is! It’s not the one she picked out with grandma, but it IS the one she wanted which they couldn’t find the day they were out shopping.

Nathan and Uncle Troy are enjoying a few bites of licorice.

Uncle Troy managed to guess every single one of his presents including this long tube…. I don’t know how he could haven’t known that it was licorice.

Josh is trying to hide from the camera. He takes after his daddy.

Here he’s holding a frog that grandma and grandpa gave him. You are supposed to go online and feed it… we’ll have to check that out now that the holidays have passed and we’re settling back into our normal life/school/work routine.

Nathan and grandpa reading the train book that we gave Grandpa.

and since we only buy “train” things for grandpa (LOL) here is Nathan showing him the DVDs that we found. We have been looking all year for some new ones and finally found some at Costco… two different ones and the last ones they had of each… talk about GREAT timing on that shopping day!Tim got his own stash of shoe covers so he doesn’t have to take his boots off when he comes in teh house. We don’t wear outdoor shoes on our carpeting so it’s nice to have a box of these by the back door.
GG isn’t sure what SUDOKU is so she’s studying the book. I’m not sure if she’ll be able to figure it out, but we’ll see. It’ll give her something new to try. Normally, she likes to do cross word puzzles and word finds. We thought we’d see if she would like something different.

My mom found these LIFE IS GOOD house clothes which I *LOVE*! They have coffee mugs on them.
Grandma is looking at the devotional book we got her – specifically for grandmas.

Nathan has a BIG SMILE. It doesn’t even matter what’s inside the box.

HO HO HO! He got a new shorts outfit that he thinks makes him look like Santa.

The girls…..

Grandma Jan and her mom, Gee Gee.

Josh was certainly excited about this present! It was $$. He is saving for a go-cart and he has a LONG way to go, but with every $1 he’s getting closer. He keeps saying he might be too old for go carts by the time he saves enough $$. We’ve made ad eal with him that we’ll pay 1/2 and he has to pay the other 1/2. If he works REALLY hard and continues his lawn mowing job this summer he just might earn enough by next year at this time.

Cindy – I love peaking into everyone’s Christmas through the blogs. Who would thought we would have this glimpse of other families. I think these blogs are GREAT! I love the picture of you all watching for Santa . . adorable!

A LIFE THAT MATTERED

A LIFE THAT MATTERED By Pastor Gary Helsby “On behalf of Beth’s family, I wish to thank each of you for being here today.  Today is a very difficult day – there are many “unanswered” questions about why such a beautiful person, who had so much love for life and who …

SEQUENCE

Nathan, Tim, and I played a lively game of Sequence this evening.  I should have won the first round, but SOMEONE had to open up their mouth and let on to someone else my strategy which was to win 2 sequences with one last chip!  That play fell through and …
