Awhile ago I started making plans for Christmas! It is JUST around the corner you know! OrganizedChristmas is a GREAT website with lots of ideas, tools, charts, plans, etc and daily email reminders about what we should be doing to be ready for a less stressful Christmas! Click on the link to see what you should have done on Sunday – the first day of the Organized Christmas countdown! Sorry, I’m a few days late posting this. Dorothy – better late than never, right? I’m actually posting this FOR YOU!
I’ll give you a summary:
**update your Christmas Card list – I keep one master list on a spreadsheet and add a new column for each year. – How are you doing on this one Dorothy? Do you need a copy of my database template? It’s a simple one done Microsoft Works.
**spruce up your home (I’ve been doing that all summer – lol – hopefully that counts for SOMETHING.. and Dorothy.. you’re GOOD on this one too.. you already did all those bedroom makeovers!
**schedule the family Christmas photo – I’m not sure what we’ll do about this. Usually my brother takes a picture for us on Thanksgiving. If I don’t have a vacation one that turned out from earlier this year then we’ll probably still be doing the annual Thanksgiving Day photo (LOL)… – so how about it Dorothy? Have you a family photo over there? If not.. don’t stress.. just put a date on the calendar to have it taken! Preferably by the end of Nov because I’m sure the Organized Christmas website will have us sending them out the first of Dec.
**start your master Christmas list. CHECK! We’ve already started ours – how about you Dorothy?
**The Organized Christmas website says we should be purchasing our Christmas cards and stamps this week. CHECK! I’ve already done that as well. I bought our cards on after Christmas sales last year!
Have I stressed you all out now? Then click on over and read this article titled READY OR NOT!
OK… ready or not November is only a week away!

I have started my Christmas shopping, my Christmas card address list is up to date and ready to go. I still have to write our Christmas letter though. Our family picture will happen the end of November. Also, I would like to finish all Christmas shopping except stocking stuffers by Thanksgiving. I hope I can make it. I told myself last year I am NOT waiting to the last minute this year!
Thanks for the reminder, Cynthia! I’ll check out that website.
We took our family Cmas photo and I have my cards. I need to get started on shopping though!
Um. NO!!!!! It’s not even Halloween yet!!! Of course, Trevor started counting down for Christmas last month . . . It’s enough for me to remember to begin our advent book on time, lol.
Cynthia!!!!!!
You HAVE stressed me out.{g} But cards are no problem, I could always send out the ones I wrote and adressed last year but never got around to mailing! {VBG}
I did download and print out the schedule on DeEtta’s site. And then ran out of ink. And then realised it was baking week. And then panicked.
But hey! At least I don’t have to prepare for Thanksgiving!
No, no, no, nononono, this is not good. It’s not even Thanksgiving yet. It’s not even Halloween yet!
I can ony dream about being this ready and organised!
