Every year I drive down this one particular street and admire a certain beautiful tree! I’ve never known what it was so I decided to stop in the nearby greenhouse to inquire. It’s a Catalpa Tree and wouldn’t you know they only had ONE LEFT! I couldn’t buy it on the spot because first I had to make sure I could convince my guys that we needed another tree and then I had to convince them to plant the tree. Don’t you think the area by the backhoe is begging for a tree?

It didn’t take much convincing (:::wink:::) and the next day I went in to buy the tree. Of course, it wouldn’t fit in the Yukon which meant Tim had to make an extra trip over to the greenhouse to load it up in the pickup to bring it home. He asked why I had to buy the biggest one they had (LOL)! I thought it would be about the same size as the new tree we bought last year, but it wasn’t. It was at least twice the size! I’m still getting teased about that. Here Tim is measuring the area where Josh will dig the hole.

Josh will make a very good husband to some fortunate young lady sometime in the future because he knows how to do all kinds of things like this around the home!

Here they are placing the tree after mixing in some mulch with the dirt all of which Josh has to bring over ifrom the pit n the backhoe. Everything takes more time than you estimate (LOL)!
This tree won’t provide shade to the house nor will it be part of any landscaped area (at least not for a few years anyway…if ever). It’s a beautiful tree that my guys planted just because they love me! Aren’t they sweet! Here’s what the tree will look like all grown up. I doubt ours will bloom this year, but if it does I’ll post a picture. I LOVE the tree because it has ginormous leaves which remind me of being in Florida!
