Last summer Jackson’s mom asked if Nathan was interested in playing soccer. Of course, Nathan said yes if it involved doing anything with his little buddy, Jackson. These two have been building their friendship for about three years now.

Even though we had attended the same church for years, I don’t think I actually met Jackson’s mom until the year we started making plans to start a co-op and that’s when the boys became acquainted. Now that I ponder this a bit, I bet it’s possible that we might have even attended the same church when we were both pregnant with these little guys. Kim, if you’re reading this we’ll have to compare notes (LOL).

Anyway, back to what I was saying about the boys friendship. One of the many reasons we’re thankful for co-op is the opportunity it provides for our kids to have intentionally scheduled opportunities to “do life” (a quote used often around our church in regard to relationships) and school together. Through the years, we’ve tried to arrange playdates, field trips, and other activities in an effort to make attempts at getting the kids together with friends even though we live so far out from town. But, it was often very difficult due to conflicting schedules, distances, etc. Co-op makes that much easier for us since we meet regularly every Monday throughout the school year.

It’s so much fun to see them discussing the plays happening out on the court. I can just imagine what they’re talking about:
** DID YOU SEE THAT?
**OH SWEET!
**YEA! SCORE!
**CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? (bablieve if it’s Nathan talking – lol)

I’m sure it’s nice to have a friend to sit on the bench with while taking a break from the game to get a drink. Cheering their team on from the sidelines, I’m sure.Photobucket - Video and Image HostingLOL! I don’t know what Nathan is doing with his hand clear up in the air. But he is quite excited about something and Jackson is attentively listening. What a good friend!

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingEven though our fall was crazy busy with three kids in sports, I have to say that I’m a bit sad the season is over. Nathan asked Jackson if he was going to play basketball this winter! Planning ahead already (LOL). LITTLE BITES OF HAPPINESS

Nathan’s friend, Noah, came over to hang out today and enjoy one last day of Christmas break before school resumes for both of them tomorrow. On the way home from picking him up at “the bridge,” I asked if the boys wanted some oatmeal for breakfast, but no. They wanted …

COON “HUNTIN”

Early this morning our dog went crazy with barking and howling.  After the sun rose, we found out what all the commotion had been about as he pointed us toward a coon he had treed during the night! Mid morning the boys decided they needed to take care of the …

DUCK PREP

I’m not sure what’s going on with these duck feathers on my dining room table, but the placemat has been moved over to make room for them! And the Egg Nog has been pushed aside to make room for marinating the duck meat!!    I’m not much for animals, dead …
