BOYS AT WORK

Family
3

Both of the boys like to go out and help daddy and grandp. Josh is getting to the age where he is a BIG help to them. I try to not pay attention to everything he does when helping daddy, but the other day I did sneak out to get a few pictures.

I’m sure Nathan is busy talking Tim’s ear off about tires, engines, or anything else “truck.” He talks nonstop and he has asked more questions then all of the other 3 kids put together, I’m sure. Two weeks ago Tim asked if Nathan should stay home from “preschool” to haul gravel with him. I didn’t have a CHANCE to say no since he asked right in front of Nathan and there was NO WAY he was going to go to “preschool” if there was a chance to haul gravel instead…

He can talk business, but he’s not quite big enough to get out of the truck by himself yet.
Josh is old enough to be a BIG help! Tim’s always glad when Josh goes along because he gets up early and makes their lunch. Here they are heading down the road.
Whenever grandpa or daddy pull in the yard, the boys are quick to head out and help… when it comes to backing up they know all about staying out of the way and giving the hand signals. Here Josh is hanging off the edge giving directions through the window and Nathan is giving the backup sign from the sidelines.

he’s very careful to stay WAY away (LOL) from the moving vehicles…. he has to stand in the grass or by the fence.

Josh is giving grandpa the backup sign from back on the dock and Nathan is standing right next to the fence where he’ll stay until grandpa or daddy says it’s ok to come closer.

Josh helped grandpa unhook everything and now he’s ready to back it off the trailer… I’m thinking I should NOT have come out here to get pictures!

Thankfully, for me, grandpa decided he would hop up there and assist with the whole backing off process.

Now that the tractor is off the trailer Josh takes care of the unhooking while grandpa supervises.

meanwhile Nathan backs his pickup up to the trailer next to the one Josh is working on and pretends to hook it up.

he’s hauling a pretty big load (LOL).

and…. Josh is STILL working on the trailer and grandpa is still supervising… he’s busy supervising both of the boys.
Josh stops to talk a few things over with grandpa.

then Nathan comes over with a few questions…. most of the answers are met with “why grandpa?”

I guess they are high fiving here… I know they’re all smiling because the work outside is done! Grandpa headed home and the boys came back inside to finish some school work. I don’t usually make outright plugs for homeschooling, but I do have to say that we LOVE this life style. I would hate to have the boys miss the opportunities to run outside for a few minutes here and there whenever the guys need a hand and I know grandpa and daddy LOVE the help and interaction.

Awwww those pictures are nice. How wonderful they they can spend so much time with Dad and Grandpa. I agree Nathan is SO cute doing his “work”.

DeEtta and Jodi,

yep… daddy/son time is great. It’s the most wonderful part of homeschooling, imo.

De-did you get to go with your dad very often and on long trips or short? They sure do have a lot of time for conversations in the truck.

A LIFE THAT MATTERED

A LIFE THAT MATTERED By Pastor Gary Helsby “On behalf of Beth’s family, I wish to thank each of you for being here today.  Today is a very difficult day – there are many “unanswered” questions about why such a beautiful person, who had so much love for life and who …

SEQUENCE

Nathan, Tim, and I played a lively game of Sequence this evening.  I should have won the first round, but SOMEONE had to open up their mouth and let on to someone else my strategy which was to win 2 sequences with one last chip!  That play fell through and …

LITTLE BITES OF HAPPINESS

Nathan’s friend, Noah, came over to hang out today and enjoy one last day of Christmas break before school resumes for both of them tomorrow. On the way home from picking him up at “the bridge,” I asked if the boys wanted some oatmeal for breakfast, but no. They wanted …
