CONTINUOUS SHOOT MODE!! WHOO HOO!!!!
I can’t BELIEVE all of the shots I was able to get while Josh and his cousin (2nd or 3rd?) played football. My old digital camera didn’t have a sports mode so I always missed the action shots at volleyball and basketball games or while the kids were rough housing around the house. My new camera has a continuous mode setting where I can push the button 1/2 way down to focus and then press it the rest of the way down and leave it pressed down to take continuous shots! It’s a VERY COOL feature that my old point & shoot didn’t have! Here are some shots that I took while the boys were playing. I labeled them left, right as in I was able to catch each step and Josh was moving right along. Then I was able to get each position as he bent to pass the ball, etc. I’m SO EXCITED and thanking Tim over and over again for buying me this new camera. The pictures below were taken in just a few seconds… the amount of time it takes to run, get in place, toss a football, and run again.
#1 – left knee bent #2 – right knee bent#3 – starting to turn#4 turned more and head looking back
#5 – Josh turns back toward Zach & left knee bent#6 – closer to Zach and right knee bent
#7 – starts to turn
#8 – turns more and starts to bend
#9 – more bending
#10 – fully bent and ball on ground – Zach’s leg forward #11 – fully bent, ready to toss, and Zach’s leg down

#12 – Josh tosses the ball to Zach and I catch it in MID AIR!!! A FIRST! #13 – Josh is running at full speed #14 – in the next shot Josh is out of the picture Here is another series from my new continuous mode test!

#1 – Getting ready to kick #2 – ball leaves his hand and, again, I catch it in MID AIR!! WHOO HOO! #3 – NICE FORM! #5 – arm follow through Here are some more action shots. This time they are of Emily practicing volleyball against the side of the garage.

And, here’s another kicking sequence!

#1 – Getting ready to kick #2 – hand up
#3 – hand back and ball in air – ANOTHER WHOO HOO for ME!!#4 – after the kick (notice ball in lower left corner) – not very good form this time.
#5 – arm swinging through#6 – getting ready to run #7 – taking off running
#8 – running to pick up the ball
#9 – bending down to pick it up
#10 – grabbed it and runs back to kick again
#11 – almost out of my frame and headed back to kicking spot#12 – completely out of the picture now#13 – walking back to kick again#14 – tossed ball in air which you can barely see under the tree branch#15 – kicking – GREAT FORM – and no way I would have caught this with my old camera#16 – arm follow through#17 – more follow through#18 – looking to see where it went#19 – walking off to retrieve the ball

I’ll just comment here.

You DID it! Cool. I LOVE the life is good shirts…In fact I’m wearing my “van go” shirt right now. They make a “write on” shirt…but only for kids and I wanted it for Jamin and I.

I like what you’ve done.
