Quite awhile ago (back at the end of April to be exact), Debbie tagged me for the Thinking Blogger Award. Here’s what she said about my blog:
Cynthia has a terrific blog full of wonderful pictures of her family and their adventures. Cynthia plans and takes the most awesome vacations. Her blog also conveys such a servant’s heart for her family and her church.
Debbie, thanks SO MUCH for passing this award on to me. Your blog is one of my many favorites and I visit it often! Your family is an amazing inspiration to me in so many ways from gardening and remodeling to homeschooling and scrapbooking! I’ve found that we enjoy so many of the same things. Also, it seems like I know several people who are considering international adoptions at the moment. I tell ALL of them about you and your family and the five children you’ve adopted. I can’t even begin to imagine adding 3 children over night! I’ve enjoyed reading your blog and watching the new ones become part of your family. Thanks for sharing the everyday joys and struggles! And, thanks again for passing the Thinking Blogger award on to me!I sure don’t feel like my blog has much of anything to offer someone in the way of “thinking” (unless it causes them to think about how they wouldn’t want to be like me running to/fro and here/there, nonstop almost all the time – lol) so I was quite surprised to have someone tag me for this award. I visit many blogs which cause me to think about lots of different things, but I can only nominate five so here they are:Jen – photojenic – who causes me to THINK about scrapbooking, photo storage, digiscrapping, etc. She often posts her awesome scrapbooking pages on her blog as well as really KEWL word art creations! She’s working on a digi album for me (our East Coast trip a few years ago) and I can hardly wait to see it! She’s caused me to think about the size of the photos I post to my blog, labeling them for copyright purposes, digital scrapbooking, and backing up my hard drive so I don’t lose any of our precious pictures, etc. Her scrapbooking is an inspiration to me to keep plugging away at my old photos and she has caused me to start thinking (ever so slowly) about digiscrapping. THANKS JEN for always answering a zillion questions from me (LOL)!Lisa – Lisa causes me to think about trying to catch up my photo albums! She’s always carving out time to go scrapbook with her sister and she even keeps a running tally of completed scrapbook pages on her blog! I try to not look at her increasing numbers too often since my numbers are pretty much not going anywhere these days (LOL). Lisa also lives out in the country and still has to deal with DIAL UP! I remember how long it takes to upload pics on dialup so I know what great lengths you go to to add pictures to your blog. I just wanted to say THANKS! I appreciate you taking the time to do that so we can all have a glimpse into your life. Thanks for continually causing me to think about making time to scrapbook!Karen – has a blog titled The Littles are Running Amok. Karen is an IRL friend who makes me think about HARD things – things like what I can and can’t realistically do in a day, week, month or year. She makes me think before I say yes to any new projects (LOL)! My family thanks you, but all the people I have to say no to these days would probably like to ring your neck!! However, unless they read my blog they won’t know it’s *YOU* (LOL)! Karen, thanks for your (almost) daily checkin and for keeping me in line these days! Thanks to you my schedule has been almost whittled to 1/2 of what it was two years ago!Lee – The HomeScholar. My dear cyberfriend, Lee, causes me to think about homeschooling high school. Lee and I met a number of years ago at a homeschool convention after being internet friends for a number of years. She did SO many awesome academic things with her boys that I was (with our oldest) continually challenged to think about what we were doing for high school in our homeschool. She has now launched a business to help other homeschoolers find their way through the challenges of teaching high school at home! THANKS LEE for all of your help, suggestions, ideas, etc. Thanks for tackling topics on your blog such as calculating credits, assigning grades, writing course descriptions, preparing transcripts and portfolios, and searching for scholarships so the rest of us can benefit from your wisdom.Diann – Our Family Adventure. They built a new house in the last year and it really caused me to stop and wonder if we really could survive the building of a house (LOL)! It was hard enough on us to just put the 1000 sq foot addition on our home and it has taken us 5 months so far on the bathroom and it’s still not 100% functional. Diann sings on the worship team at her church and helps with stage setup, her dh is currently deployed, she keeps a busy schedule homeschooling two and having two in public school. She causes me to stop and think about serving – serving friends, family, neighbors, church, etc. I couldn’t BELIEVE that they hosted a wedding at their home not very many weeks after moving in. Thanks for taking time to blog all of your family adventures, Diann!Kelly – Life With Boys – Kelly is an inspiration to me because of her zeal for getting healthy!!! I love the recipes that she posts because most of the time she includes Weight Watcher point calculations and I think she’s gone to eating almost all raw/whole foods now! She causes me to stop and think about what I’m baking and cooking around here. I LOVED hearing about her summer days at the lake, leisurely hours spent reading, and basically taking time to ENJOY LIFE! Kelly, I’m pretty sure I would NEVER have tried ballroom dancing had it not been for seeing pictures of you dancing on your blog (LOL)! You’ve caused me to think about slowing down and making time for such things as spending a day just “being.” Thanks for sharing your life changes on your blog so we can all benefit from seeing your journey toward more healthy living. There are SO MANY more people I would like to chose and many of them have already been given this award so I’ll stick to the rules this time (other than the fact that I can’t count and listed 6.. and now I’m NOT going to go back and take one of them off – lol)… other than that minor detail I’m sticking to the rules >VBG>!
The participation rules are simple: 1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog).
