BASKETBALL – DAY 125 of P365

When I was organizing all of our digital pictures from this year I ran across a few that I realize now I never got around to posting. So, here are some pictures from Josh’s last day of basketball. We were gone when they took the team photo so I took a shot of him myself.

He played on the local YMCA team which has been a good experience in previous years, but this year’s YMCA leadership left a lot to be desired in the areas of organization and communication which meant it wasn’t all that great of an experience from a parent’s standpoint. I’m SO glad he’ll be old enough to be on a “real” team next year and we won’t have to deal with playing on a YMCA team next year….. ’nuff said.
There are a couple of things that DID make this a *great* year and one of those things is that Tim and two other dads (who also had sons on the same team) we know were the coaches for Josh’s team. They did a GREAT job!! The boys learned a lot about working together and good sportsmanship. Thanks dads for putting so much time and energy into these boys!
They don’t really keep “score” at this level, but one of the moms kept some records for each game. The boys always rushed over to see the totals as soon as the game was over.
Josh LOVES basketball and is really looking forward to 5th grade and being able to be on a “real” team playing other schools in the area. I’m sure he’s also looking forward to those 6:00 a.m. practices (LOL)… NOT! I know I’m not looking forward to that….
