ASH IN THE AIR!

You can’t really tell in this picture HOW RED the sun is… but it is blood red and has a huge glow around it presumably from the smoke in the air. The first picture is from here at our house and the 2nd picture is 30 miles away where the smoke is much thicker, but still 2 hours away from the fire.

There are two major fires burning within a few hours of us and it’s starting to fill our valley with smoke now. Here are some pictures that I took while out and about this afternoon. In a few days when the smoke has cleared I’ll post some pictures of what these areas NORMALLY look like. You can see any of the hills or mountains right now.

The ash is just starting to fall out here at our house, but in town it was falling so heavily you could see it in the air like snow falling… speaking of which… there is snow in the forecase for this weekend and let’s pray it comes and puts these fires out! Ash on Nathan’s outdoor toy.

Oh my! I’ve never seen anything like that before. We must not have fires here because all it does is rain lolol……

Wow, that really looks bad. I’m sure the air quality isn’t great. Hope the skies clear for you soon and the fires go out.

I’ve never seen anything like that either, I hope it rains and snows plenty to put it all out.

I think the fires are all out now that we’ve gotten so much rain. I know the air has certainly cleared. I’ll have to send some more scenery pictures later so you can see what it NORMALLY looks like around here.

SUPER MOON

The Super Moon was shining so bright throughout the night last night. This morning the western sky was a beautiful rainbow of colors as the moon was disappearing over the horizon.

LET IT SNOW

Being in the road building business, one thing we don’t have to worry about is being snowed in. As long as the weather isn’t so cold that we can’t start the equipment, you’ll find our men out and about plowing everyone’s driveways up and down our road and a few …

EARLY MORNING VIEW

I love that the days are getting longer!   There was a beautiful view of the moon early this morning which reminded me of this song by Steven Curtis Chapman.   …”Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee…   Holy. Holy, holy…”
