What a great hs outing, with the exception of the poor girl who broke her wrist.
So obviously, you weren’t skiing?

Every winter our homeschool group heads off to the mountains to go skiing. We go two Tuesdays in February and two Tuesdays in March. This past Tuesday was our first time for this year! The kids had so much fun. Above are the pictures of the mountains as seen from our house…. QUITE a ways in the distance! Below Em caught a picture of me YAWNING. Boy am I missing Amanda this year. Last year she drove and I slept! She couldn’t get away to come with us this year because she has a “job” and we’re going to be gone on vacation and she’s nannying, etc., and just didn’t feel like she could ask for 4 Tuesdays off this year even though the dr she works for said she should take off for any school related activities.

The mountains are a little closer after a 45 minute drive…

Below is a picture of all of the ice in the river we crossed.

closer yet after almost an hour of driving.

An hour and a 1/2 and we’re ALMOST there.
Looking down on the valley as we drive up the hill to the lodge.

We picked up one of Josh’s friends who has never skiied before.
Em and one of her friends waiting in line. I told Em to open her eyes and see what I get in the next picture (LOL)! I should have tried for a few more candid shots, but I had to go get a table in the lodge >VBG>

Josh and his friend waiting in line.
putting the boots on….

Josh is measuring something, but I’m not sure what.

getting his skis adjusted…

This is the first year he’s tried poles.

Here are Josh and his friend headed up to the lesson and lift area.

Josh is giving some sort of instructions to his friend who has, again, NEVER skiied before….
I managed to get just a couple of pictures at the beginning of Josh’s day.
Here he’s putting his skis on the rack so he can come in and have lunch.
I hardly saw Em at all until the end of the day.
getting all the snow off from them…

There were 3 people brought down on the sled today and one of them was a girl from our group who is also on Em’s volleyball team. We found out later that night that she broke her wrist. BUMMER, but we’re thankful it wasn’t anything more serious.
