THE ROAD TO OUR HOUSE

Thursday morning it was STILL snowing when I took Em into volleyball. Above we are just coming in to town at roughly 5:30 a.m.

It snowed the whole time we were in town. I stopped to do a few errands and the YUKON wouldn’t start. Fortunately, I was able to find some jumper cables from someone in a nearby office building and my brother was close by so he stopped in to help. After that I went to have the battery checked and it appears to be fine except that it was a little loose so the man tightened it and we’ll see how it does now. This is the 2nd day time this winter that the YUKON wouldn’t start.

Here are the road conditions on the interstate as Em and I headed home just before lunch time.

Above the interstate had one lane that wasn’t snowpacked, but below you can see that the secondary roads are all snowpacked with ice underneath.

It’s a pretty straight stretch to our house except for one part where you go under the interstate.

and up an “S” curve hill.

Finally.. another straight stretch to our house. We own the land on the left side from the top of this hill to the next hill.

and into our driveway. The weather only slowed us down by about 10 minutes today so it’s NOT as bad as it looks!

You’re getting a ton of snow lately from the sounds of it. We still haven’t had but 6 inches all winter but apparently Wednesday might be the big one for us. I am so hoping it will arrive after we’ve been to the city for Trevor’s doctor appt. When we are home safely.

all the pictures are great!

SUPER MOON

The Super Moon was shining so bright throughout the night last night. This morning the western sky was a beautiful rainbow of colors as the moon was disappearing over the horizon.

LET IT SNOW

Being in the road building business, one thing we don’t have to worry about is being snowed in. As long as the weather isn’t so cold that we can’t start the equipment, you’ll find our men out and about plowing everyone’s driveways up and down our road and a few …

EARLY MORNING VIEW

I love that the days are getting longer!   There was a beautiful view of the moon early this morning which reminded me of this song by Steven Curtis Chapman.   …”Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee…   Holy. Holy, holy…”
