SLEDDING

Fortunately, we’ve FINALLY gotten enough snow to go do a little sledding. Another foot would have been perfect, but we’ll take what we can get. Supposedly, it’s supposed to snow some more starting tonight. We’ll see. We sure missed Amanda today! She’s still nannying and didn’t get to go out with us today. Sadly, I’m starting to realize that more and more of my pictures are going to be of the 3 kids and not the 4 kids. Here Nathan is explaining something. Notice that hand gestures. I have NO IDEA where he gets this whole talking with his hands thing.

Emily was going to slide down and something went wrong. She was reaching for Josh to help her, but of course, he didn’t.

He took the sled from her and went on down head first (LOL).

He left Em sitting there at the top of the hill.
Here the olders ones are helping Nathan back up the hill. He was quite the trooper! At first we didn’t think he was going to like sledding and getting cold but he LOVED it.

Here Tim is helping him up the hill. He’s showing him how to dig his toes into the snow to get a grip.

Couldn’t go through the day without a good snowball fight!

The view from where we were sledding.

Josh took a pretty good tumble this time. He hit a rock and ended up cracking the bottom of the sled. The kids said we needed new sleds before we even went out today and now it’s FOR SURE.

I have NO IDEA what I’m doing in this picture, but when I looked at it closely it seems like I’m trying to get some stray hair out of my mouth…. after last weeks scuba class and this weeks sledding I’m beginning to think all of this long hair is really a pain.
Emily is having a GREAT TIME! Her laugh is contagious. She just GIGGLES the entire way down! You can see her laughing through this mask (LOL) since her eyes just light up when she’s laughing.

Tim couldn’t resist going down a few times. He had to beat the kids’ record you know. Here he and Nathan are going down together.

Josh had to try a few unique moves and I put them in a different entry so I wouldn’t get all of the pictures mixed up… long blog posts take longer than posting more shorter ones… so I’m going for the more and shorter today (LOL).

What fun! We haven’t had enough snow yet. They are saying maybe Wednesday…we’ll see! Everyone sure looks like they are having a great time!

That looks so much fun!

I’m glad you have some hills nearby. We live in flat, flat Oxfordshire which is pretty much like a billiard table.

Dorothy

What a GREAT family outing! I love the way everyone is included (except your nannying dd, sniff, sniff). You are doing a wonderful job of being active and athletic as a family – what a great model for your kiddos.

Debbie,
Hopefully you’ll be getting some more snow SOON! We are getting DUMPED on right now and that’s a GREAT THING! We have several more inches over night and it’s supposed to snow for the next couple of days. Skiing should be awesome tomorrow!

Dorothy,
Yes, we have hills nearby… just a few minutes away. It does make it nice for sledding. We’ll have to go out again now that we’re getting more snow!

Kathy,
Well..I was kind of a whimp and I didn’t go down on any sleds. My problem is that I don’t even have any winter boots and the boots I do have just wouldn’t work for climbing up the hill (LOL). So, I just watched and took pictures.

::snicker:: this is pretty funny, but poor Em!

Your view is lovely!!

Looks like a FUN day! Glad your root canal went well and hope you have a fun vacation. I commented on something on your blog the other day but I don’t think it went through.

SEQUENCE

Nathan, Tim, and I played a lively game of Sequence this evening.  I should have won the first round, but SOMEONE had to open up their mouth and let on to someone else my strategy which was to win 2 sequences with one last chip!  That play fell through and …

SUPER MOON

The Super Moon was shining so bright throughout the night last night. This morning the western sky was a beautiful rainbow of colors as the moon was disappearing over the horizon.
